Re: [elephant in the room]

she sounds so sure of herself and that everything is coming up roses. I can't wrap my head around this.

I can see a male teacher ... Sexy young student, him being in position of authority, the taboo ... I bet lots of men teacher find their students attractive even If they never dare act on it... Girls look way older these days and act the part.. Flirtatious with teachers at times. I have seen it.

But a woman? With a boy? It's just mind boggling and I wonder if it's for the same reasons above. so used to seeing women as protectors, maternal... Not predatory.

Do I think the boy complained? No. he probably had time of his life but stats show that it will haunt him later

Id love to know why. why have a tryst with a student when you are a woman ? Why not just cheat with someone in your age range? why someone's son? Especially when you are a mother yourself. So many questions.

And I'm willing to bet he is not the only student.

I think it's because teenagers are easy to manipulate. That's why anyone would prey on them.... Girls, boys, whatever. I am not sure it's really sexual attraction. Not that I understand the mindset of a predator, but from my experiences with them, they go for weaker and vulnerable kids because they are just easier in every way to control.

I have to be honest. This story, out of all the crazy crap on LIF, really freaks me out.

Re: [elephant in the room]

like one of the many 483739278473 commenters on her 2739827837827 articles said..

just wait until her 3 year old is 16... and some 36 year old teacher makes a move on HER.

ITS DISGUSTING..

I don't care that she's considered the 'hot' teacher.

sorry- but only nasty men, pimply 16 year old boys and men who look like the "yodeling" character from the price is right .. would be into THAT.

I wonder about what this will do to the boy emotionally/psychologically, too. I know some people (especially men) have made comments on news articles taking it all very lightly.. like "oh, where were these teachers when I was a kid" or "lucky kid, he must've loved it", etc. Just foolishness. Maybe because the boy was 16, and not 10, I don't know... but I don't think that's any better. He's still a child regardless of how old this kid was. At 16, the world is still one big confusion, rolled up in a ball of angst... a lot of internal stuff going on at that age. I mean, I read in an article that out of the almost 4000 texts or the fb exchanges she made a comment saying something to the effect of "Oh no, I'm not putting myself out there like that again, I tried that and you couldn't handle it/weren't ready, etc." and they professed love for each other etc. It sounded like more than just sex and feelings were involved. So, even she acknowledged that he might not have been emotionally ready for what went down between them IN WRITING. Maybe the kid really was in love with her, who knows. But, how is all this going to effect this poor kid's future adult relationships? Not only that, but being put on the stand during her trial, etc. Seeing her on the news for a long time. Someone posted an official DOE correspondence from the investigations office, and in it it sounded like the kid was worried about their access to cell records and consequences of lying to investigators. Not an easy position for the kid at all! And she's a PIG for acting all happy, all smiles, in front of the media, parading her daughter around like nothing is going on and it's no big deal.

There is an old post of hers where she writes about kids in her school vandalizing her classroom desks and her car with drawings of male genitalia... so maybe there was more than one.. Or maybe other kids knew of what what she was up to? Who knows...

Re: [elephant in the room]

Just a couple of $0.02's on this one - in all these pictures, snicks looks XANAX'd to HIGH HEAVEN. Vacant, frail, and a touch of smug. And I'm sure that's deliberate because Lord knows if I had to go TURN MYSELF IN at the local copshop I'd make sure I had enough stuff in my system to calm me right up to the point of a coma.

The smug "I'm getting my job back!!! My friends are beautiful!!!" crap doesn't surprise me - it's probably all coached by her attorney, but with that said, the UFT is notoriously gifted at getting SICK F*CKS off the hook and keeping them in our schools.

As to the affair itself, there are just soooo many cases of this female teacher/male student stuff of late it's alarming. I don't think it begins from a predatory place though... There are uniting threads in so many of these cases - an attractive yet unstable person, in a shaky or downright bad marriage/relationship. Maybe missing all the attention that her face/bod garnered in younger days; maybe scared sh*tless at the prospect of aging, who knows?

So this little flirtation begins and feels good to everyone because it's illicit and fun and easy kwim? She's getting the attention she craves, the kid is walking around feeling 9 feet tall, they are flirting with each other and the restraint is half the fun. At some point it crosses over into physical intimacy - and that's the point at which it all goes to hell right quick. I don't think they set out to control or claim a victim - I think it's more that for teachers in this scenario, they are so damaged and VORACIOUS they will stop at almost nothing to get the attention they need.

Without saying too much, you would be amazed at what gets reported, investigated, and ultimately allowed back into a classroom.

That said, with the media attention I think the DOE will be able to get her outted regardless of the criminal outcome.

as you SHOULD frankly! As EVERY NYC parent should. And she's only what 36 making $80K a year as reported? That's a damn lot of your tax dollars supplying this b*tch with xanax and pot up until retirement (and beyond).

Perhaps the UFT will bow out of this one, given all the negative publicity. Either way I don't see jail time in her future, simply due to the double standard that exists vis a vis female sex offenders.

Re: [elephant in the room]

I don't think men and women are different. Rape, child molestation, it's all about power. If this is a result of post-partum mental issues, then i feel sorry for her and her family, but at somepoint she or her husband needed to get her some HELP before it led to plying a child with drugs and abusing him
