Good news/bad news; My baby elephant is........
now a brontosaurus. 
He is weighing in at 7.5 pounds and is projected to be 10 or 11 pounds at birth.  I should not be shocked as big babies run in both our families, but I just might hit the family record!!!!  I figure if he's going to be big, might as well be the biggest! 
Unfortunately, they have put me on semi bedrest. They said I can't go back to work. For stress reasons, this is good. For financial reason, this is very bad. I don't get maternity leave. And we are just about to close on our new home.
They say I have way too much amniotic fluid and that is their concern. If I go into pre-term labor, then the umbilical cord will most likely fall out first, with everything else but the baby, which is not good. Oddly enough, he is swimming around in the fluid. That's how much fluid there is. He's not even out of room.
It's time I listen to the doctors and take it easy. This is going to be very hard. Thank you all for your well wishes!!!!!

kelly, why dont you get maternity leave every woman who gives birth has to get it. its a law i believe. you better look into that.
i give you so much strength when you deliver wow he is a big baby..
when do you close? everything is happening so close to the due date for you. you poor thing,

They did say to prepare for a c-section. There's nothing I can do about that.

He's right up there with my eldest daughter!!!!! Maybe you will go early....
Im basically facing the same as you and b/c I have the history of going early they arent as concerned with the size of this moose!!!!
Keep us posted and look at the bedrest as a good thing...

No one is required to give maternity leave. Most places will give FMLA, but that's unpaid. It basically states that you can take up to 12 weeks off (unpaid) and they won't give your job away.

Oh Kelly- I'm sorry to hear that you are on bedrest. I'm sure its hard- but you have to remember that your baby needs you right now!

Hang in there Kelly!!! With the cr@p your boss was giving you about sitting sideways  getting away from him should be a relief. I know financially it's going to be rough, but I know you'll find a way to get through and come out whole on the other side!!

When are you due? Take care of yourself & get lots of rest. I would definitely ask your dr about a scheduled c-section. Only because you do NOT want your umbilical cord to fall out. This happened to my DH's cousin last year, it is called a prolapsed umbilical cord and it caused many problems when her water broke.
