Ending a car lease early
My mom passed away and I need to get rid of her leased car - a Chevy Impala. I've been told by the bank holding the lease that I have three options. I, as executor may buy it - but, no one else is allowed to buy it; I can find someone to assume the lease; or I can turn the car in at a dealership which will then arrange for the car to be auctioned off and I will have to pay whatever difference is left over. I've been told that would be about $3,200, which is a lot.
So far I have not been able to find anyone to assume the car - been trying craigslist and putting out flyers plus advertising in my local paper - and am facing having to shell out $3,200 from mom's small estate which is upsetting as I need the money to pay other expenses until her house is sold. The car is in great shape, it's a 2009 with a year to go on the lease and over 34,000 miles left to be driven, but I'll be darned if I can find anyone who wants it. Has anyone else had this situation? I'd appreciate any advice on how to get out of this lease without having to pay thousands to Chevy. Thanks.

Re: Ending a car lease early
I am so sorry for your loss
My friend just took over someone else's lease, from a website called swap a lease You advertise your car on their, and someone looking to pick it up will contact you
Be prepared its not like an overnight thing, there is alot of paperwork because everything is being transferred over. Its worth a shot since the car has such low miles it will probably go fast
