Ever skip out on a check?
My first time was this past saturday. We were at a lounge and had a huge order. We got there at 6pm, finished eating and drinking by 9pm and left at midnight. The girl never gave us the check and she was no where to be found. Oh well, its not like we didnt wait around! Anyone else?

My sister and I did this at Bennigens like 10 years (or more) ago. We waited like 45 minutes for the girl to come with the check and she never did so we left!

As a former waitress, NO, I never skipped out on a check. I can understand be frustrated because you are kept waiting for a long time but you know you own money and can kind of figure out how much so you can always leave it on the table or give it to another server.

Same thing happened at Pizza Hut to me. We were in high school and we asked for the check at least 5 times. After about 45 minutes we were like screw it, if they don't want us to pay, we won't.
My BF and I drunkenly walked out on a check and didn't realize it until about an hour later so I've done it twice but really, we weren't thinking the second time.

No but we totally forgot to tip our waitress at my bachelorette party at the China club...we were all so drunk and we just didn't think of it...I'm amazed we even paid the check. I felt just as bad as if we had skipped out on the check!

BTW we went there on Thursday again - like 25 people from my job. I was still drunk on Friday.

I have waited tables or bartended since I was 18 and I would never consider it. IMHO it is the same as stealing.
ETA: most places I have worked at over the years require the server to pay for walkouts.

I never did, I would feel soooo guilty. If I was waiting that long for my check I would of went to another waitress to ask what happend to mine, or a manager.

Wow, I'm far from perfect but I would never think of doing it - and yes I do consider it stealing..
Sure its frustrating when your server never comes back with a check and you want to get the heck out of there, but in that instance I've actually gone LOOKING for them (or I've asked a busboy/server to plese go get my waiter/waitress for me) -- this way I could make sure I did get the check and paid..
