Facebook - Business Question
How do you create a business page on Facebook? Does it have to be linked to your personal profile?
I want to do one for my company, but I don't know the right way. I want people to be able to click "like" and be able to follow us, but not like a personal profile.
Help

I created one on Facebook...it is not linked to my personal page.
I logged off from my regular account and created a new one...underneath the sign up box there is a link that says...Create a Page for a celebrity, band or business.
And I just put in all my information in and created my page...let me know if you have any questions...I can walk you through it if you want.

As far as I know, you need to have an account linked to a business page. The personal account doesn't show up anywhere on the page, but you do need to have a facebook account to manage the page. Someone who likes the page would not be "liking" your personal page, though.

I created my business one without linking it to my personal profile. In order to link it with our Twitter account it prompts me to link the fan page with my personal profile. If you don't need to link with Twitter, then no need to worry about it. We published the page and have people "liking" it.

I meant to quote...I'm pretty sure Emily is right. Mine is linked to my account and my personal page isn't anywhere on my business page.

Just a word of advice - once you create the page & select the category, they cannot be changed.
It's fine if you've only created one page & didn't send it out, you can scrap it & do another - but once you have hundreds of fans on it, you're stuck.
