False Pregnancy in Dogs

We rushed my 4 yr old pug to the vet last night, she was acting extremely weird, she wasn't standing on her hind legs at all and she kept going in circles on her butt, so we thought maybe it was her anal glands, but her breathing was so bad also, so I called the vet and met him at his office late last night.

When he was examining her, she lost all control of the bladder, it was so sad, she still wasn't walking, and her breathing was even worse, so he decided to keep her over night.

I spoke to the vet this morning, he said that she had a rough night, and he was still trying to figure out what was wrong, but he did say that she has a false pregnancy, which means she has some type of hormonal imbalance, and believes that she is pregnant when she is not. We didn't spay her due to her hip dyplasia. The vet said there may be something wrong in her GI system and now developed a rash under her belly. He did take blood and all those test will come back tomorrow.

Did anyone ever hear of a False pregnancy or any experience with a dog that went through this?

I feel like such a failure as a mom, because I didn't spay her, but I just didn't want her to go through another surgery. My heart is breaking. Chat Icon

Please keep her in your prayers. Thank you!

UPDATE 5/4-My little girl is home, she doesn't have cancer, she did have a false pregnancy, and she has a foreign object in her intestines and he thinks that she had a severe allergic reaction to some type of food I fed her on Sunday. I did change her food on Sunday, because I ran out of her regular food, so I went up to the block and grabbed Pedigree from the conveinance store, which might of been bad. The vet said she should pass the object in her intestines over the next few days. She has to go back in 5-7 days for a check up. I'm not looking forward to putting cream on her butt, but as long as my baby is ok, we're ok. Thank you guys for caring!!!
