We just got back from Ireland and going to Croatia in September - these are the perks of working for an airline!!
That's awesome!

We are going to Banff next week, super excited for that!
I'm taking a solo "momcation" while my daughter is at sleepaway camp and my son is visiting his grandparents out of state. I haven't decided where I'm going yet, I have a ticket booked to California, but really want to do Aruba. So I might change it.
We will probably go on the Disney Cruise or to Bermuda in August. I'm pretty last minute on stuff!
Have you ever booked a Disney cruise last minute? We're contemplating an August cruise but obviously want to watch the weather.

This is freaking awesome. Very jealous. thanks. So my parents have good friends with a house on FI. They take my kids because their friends have grandchildren my kids age. So I've never been, but my kids have gone and done this for like 6 years at this point. Then my mom and I have our thing later in the week when I am picking the kids up where she and I do the Hamptons. We've done this girls trip for like 20 years. It used to include my grandma until last year when she passed. Now my SIL comes too. We go to the decorator show house, and have lobster roll sandwiches, and have a relaxing time together. It is nice.

Yes! Last August! Booked 3 weeks out, and got a "GTY" rate, which means it was a Deluxe Family Verandah category and they picked the room. We couldn't make changes, etc. and it was pay in full. We paid $5k for 7 nights for 3 people, and the room we were assigned was one category below concierge (4A) and was normally almost $9k! It was awesome! I get trip insurance through insuremytrip just in case of a hurricane. We had an awesome time!
I will say, I did want to downgrade us to a window room (I was scared of verandah with my kids), but I ultimately LOVED it! We had bunk beds, a murphy bed, and a queen bed. It was a huge space compared to what we normally book (an oceanview on deck 2)
Also, our weather was perfect. It seems like most hurricanes are hitting later and later each year!

Family Vacations 2019
We go to a lake upstate near Gore Mountain called Garnet lake. We rent a really nice cottage on the lake for 1 week in July every year. I love it, but there are 2 downsides- in laws go (they pay) and no cell phone reception, no phones, no TV. Just the radio. It's ok for news/weather but by day 3 I'm twitching lol

Thank you so much for all this info! Which ship was it? We've done the Dream on a Castaway Cay double dip but I'd love to try a 7 day.

Fantasy! We have done the Dream 4 times, the Wonder once, and the Fantasy once. LOVED the Fantasy out of all of them! We also did a double dip and I loved 2 days at Castaway Cay! I was just looking for this August, and there are a few GTY rates right now for mid August. Not super good deals though, and I couldn't find a Deluxe Family Verandah, only a regular which could sleep 3 or 4, and if it only sleeps 3, you don't get a pull down, and I'm not sharing a bed with my kids!

Both of our 7-night Disney cruises were booked last minute. The 1st one we booked just over 2 weeks out and our 2nd we booked 2 months out. Verandah rooms on the Fantasy both times. I do all the booking myself, I choose not to use a travel agent bc I just don't see the need.

What did you do about airfare? Had you booked it in advance? Or did you do that last minute too?
