Feeling Guilty (bfing related)
I am slowly stopping BFing. DS is way to distracted now to stay on the breast so I pump so that he still gets the BM but it is a lot of work and he is going to be 7 months and I am tired. It wasn't so bad when I was EBF but having to pump all the time is making me crazy. I started supplementing 1 of the 4 feedings with formula and I am slowly going to change to all formula. I have such a feeling of guilt for stopping. I know some many people want to BF and were unable and here I am giving up so soon. I really wanted to make it to the year mark at least. I am so sad over this and I am torn about what to do.

Re: Feeling Guilty (bfing related)
You should be so proud of yourself! Sometimes things just don't work out as originally planned. I'm sure you never thought that DS would be too distracted to feed. You just have to deal with the hand you are dealt. It's certainly reasonable to transition DS and without guilt. I know it's looked upon as a bonding time but you will replace it with other ways of bonding.
I was also in your shoes. DD started refusing me at 7 months and I exclusively pumped until 11 months & then I transitioned her to whole milk. Pumping is d*mn hard work. From what you have explained, it sounds like starting to transition will be the best thing for you.

Re: Feeling Guilty (bfing related)
No shame to stop at 7 months. I was pumping 30-32 oz per day to keep up with DS' demand and BFing twice a day. I was exhausted. At 6 months PP, he was entirely on formula. I felt horrible giving up BFing but it was a life savior for me. I regained "some" sanity.

You should be proud of yourself for doing it this long. My DS is also way too distracted lately, but I am happy he's happier with the bottle than he used to be. I also feel the guilt as I wean him. You need to be a happy mommy. So do what's best for you now. You gave a great start to life!!!!!!

I posted the similar post not long ago, it must be normal to feel that way, I bf my dd exclusively for almost 7 months and I felt so guilty after I stopped, but you'll feel better soon, give yourself lots of credit for bf for as long as you did, I know it's not easy,
