Fever in toddler
DS has a fever, it started last night. He has a bit of a runny nose/cough. Took him to the pediatrician, ears and throat were clear. What's weird is when he sleeps (last night and today's nap) he sometimes will sort of jerk/jolt like he's been scared. I asked the doc if it sounded like febrile seizure and he didn't think so. Could he maybe be experiencing the chills and that's how it manifests? Any insight?
(btw, I'm giving Motrin/Tylenol.)

Re: Fever in toddler
How old is he and how high of a fever? Sounds like a cold. DS had the same thing 2 weeks ago... 2 days of a low fever and then he was snotty..

Fever in toddler
DS had a low grade fever (100 or less) for a fee days and was snotty, but it eventually went away. I don't give meds under a 101 fever though so the body has a chance to fight it.
How high was your Ds's fever? Seizures can happen usually 104/105 and above I thought.

Fever in toddler
Thanks, ladies!
He's 18 months. Last night his temp was 102.6, this morning it was 101.6 I think. I hoping it's a cold and he feels better soon.

He might just be getting a chill from the fever. Try to keep him bundled up, but not too much. Maybe just an extra layer.
Cool baths, tylenol and lots of water to keep him hydrated.
Good luck and I.hope he feels better soon!!
