Fever in Toddler Question
In the middle of the night my son got a fever. I didn't INSIST he take the motrin since he was fighting me on it..when he woke this morning his fever had broke.
BUT, is it better to give your kid the medicine or let them fight it naturally....wasn't sure what the right thing to do was?

Re: Fever in Toddler Question
Depends on how he's acting. My Ped said a fever is the body fighting the virus so unless he's irratable and not happy I wouldn't give it to him. Just give him plenty of fluids and let him rest. Take it easier today.
Hope he feels better soon
BTW... DS is bad with meds too so I have to hide it in things or bribe

Re: Fever in Toddler Question
i think it depends on the fever. my son gets 105...so for that i would force the motrin. 100-102ish i would let them sleep and let their body fight off the infection.

Re: Fever in Toddler Question

Re: Fever in Toddler Question
I let her cook
Fevers are the fastest way to kill an infection. Burn those baddies right out of ya!
If she goes over 102 then I give her something at night. Otherwise during the day I'll let her keep cooking at 102 as long as she's acting ok.
However, I won't let her sleep over 102 because I am always worried it will get worse over night

this is good to know...I've been blessed with a healthy kid..so i don't have experience with this. BTW, your daughter is ADORABLE!
