Fire escape ladders in 2nd floor bedrooms?
Do you have fire escape ladders in 2nd floor bedrooms?
This topic pops up every once in a while here, so I thought I'd bring it up again. This site is the reason why I bought ladders in my house. I have a ladder in every bedroom. The one in my room and DS's room is near the window, and DD's is out of her reach (she's 4). I've shown DS how to use his ladder, and will show him again when it gets warm enough. I have one in DD's room so that if there's a fire, and I go into her room, I'll be able to carry her down the ladder that's in her room.
They aren't that expensive, and add a nice piece of mind for me. Hopefully I'll never need them, but it's good knowing that I have them.

I was just looking into these since will be here soon. Can you please recommend the ones you have, if you are happy with them? Thanks so much!

We do not use our bedrooms upstairs as or now except the playroom but there is access to the garage roof and DS is in school a good portion of the day
If we use the bedrooms as "real" living quarters, yes we will get those fire escape ladders.

Re: Fire escape ladders in 2nd floor bedrooms?
I have these. I got the 3 pack, since I just happened to need 3, but they have individual ones as well.
ResQladder on Amazon
Some of the features I like are that the chain is metal, so if there is fire either at the window you're in, or the window below, it won't melt the chain, unlike a fabric/nylon chain.
Some ladders are sold as one-time use only. I want to be able to use it and practice with it, so I definitely didn't want one of those. Although, I guess you could buy an extra one of the other type and only use it for practice.

Thanks, I'm definitely going to check this one out!
