florida/traveling advice
i am going to florida in a couple of weeks with dh and 6 month old. going for 4 days. couple of quick question 1. how much clothing would you bring? you think its warm enough for shorts? 2. bringing swim diapers, sunscreen, some toys, food, pack n play sheet, sunscreen. what else? 3. the biggie - i need stroller advice. i would like to take snugride/snap n go, but db HATES her carseat. so right now, also planning on taking maclaren (triumph, super light wieght). can i gate check maclaren and snugride? any other suggestions? 4. pumping q - i normally pump in am after i nurse, (i work). should i bring pump? will get engorged otherwise? will skipping 4 days really affect supply? i pump during the day too, but not worried about those, since i will be nursing db. thanks

Re: florida/traveling advice
I went to fl w/ds when he was 3.5 mos & it wasn't bad at all.
1-You don't need that much. I packed mostly 3-pc outfits that come with a light jacket so I can take it off if ds was hot.
2-just bring your basic stuff--bibs, bath towels, etc
3-You should be able to gate check both
4-You will probably get engorged if you skip the am pumping but I don't think it will affect your supply that much. You can always hand express for a minute just to relieve the pressure

Re: florida/traveling advice
I took DD to Florda when she was 8 months old.
We took the snap n go. Gate checked it and took the car seat on the plane. I brought my medella pump. I pumped every night after DD went to bed so I would have milk in the am for her cereal. I would sit in front of the DVD player and watch 20 minutes of a movie....it was very relaxing - but that's because we were staying with the inlaws so it was chance to hide out
Anyway...I would bring the pump. And clothes - I agree about the layering. Light pants and t-shirt with a sweater. Plus shorts. There will be many outfit changes during the day.

Re: florida/traveling advice
i live in fl, but just traveled to ny this weekend. def bring the pump, even for the extra bottles to have just in case you're out and not comf w/nursing in public
they'll check both for you at the gate if need be
the weather is a bit crazy right now - cold in the am, hot in the afternoon, chillier at night so layers are good
my baby spits up alot so i had to bring alot of extra onesies - think about your baby and what you go through the most at home, i.e. burp cloths/bibs/onesies, etc.
make sure you call or check in with the airline - we flew jetblue and had to call in advance to add our son to our ticket (lap child) and we had to have a copy of his birth cert with us.
good luck and you'll enjoy it, i'm sure!!!
