Flushable Liners for Cloth Diapers
Does anyone know where I can buy these locally? Also, any feedback on successful cloth diapering routines would be much appreciated. And how to convince my husband...

Not sure since we Fuzzi Bunz Cloth Diapers and don't need a liner... My DH was fine with Cloth Diapers, he doesn't do laundry

Re: Flushable Liners for Cloth Diapers
How do those diapers work? None of the diapers I have need a liner (I did a sampler from Jillians Drawers - BumGenius, Thirsties, Kissaloves and pre folds), I decided the liners would make life easier, but this decision isn't based on any real facts...

Do you mean the Gdiaper liners? I don't use them but I've seen them at BRU.
We use bumgenius, no flushable liners.

Re: Flushable Liners for Cloth Diapers
G Diapers and Grobaby have disposable liners.
GroBaby has the option of using snap in liners or disposables.

Re: Flushable Liners for Cloth Diapers
I was thinking of using flushable liners with the BumGenius, to make the washing easier and avoid staining. I was also hoping they would convince my husband that cloth diapering is a-okay!

Re: Flushable Liners for Cloth Diapers
jillians drawers sells them. i just order from them.
though they aren't really necessary.
I just "shake" out the poop into the toilet and then give the dirties a quick rinse before putting in the diaper laundry. we wash them every day.

Re: Flushable Liners for Cloth Diapers
My cloth diapers are actually from Jillians Drawers - I really should just order them from there. I was eager to run out and get them today, but it seems impossible to find them locally

Re: Flushable Liners for Cloth Diapers
I don't understand why people are so "afriad" of today's cloth diapers.
they look JUST LIKE disposable ones...they are velcro tabs and go on EXACTLY the same.
they are removed the same way. the ONLY difference is they are place in a different receptycle once they are used (a wet bag vs a garbage bag).
they, you throw them into the washing machine with soap, let the machine do its thing (requiring no extra work) and then you throw them into the dryer (again, letting the machine do it's thing requiring no extra work)
they are SO EASY and save SO MUCH MONEY (even if you could give two shits about the earth- pun intended )
maybe tell him all this and see if he's on board.

Re: Flushable Liners for Cloth Diapers
i use the bummis liners size large- i get them from cotton babies - we need a cloth store on the island
i use prefolds and just add the liner to make things easier - i know they are not necessary -
i use the liner now that he is solid food - did not use before hand - the toilet is far from the changign table - plus he goes to daycare
if you need one right away - i am in huntington - let me know i buy them 6 at a time

Re: Flushable Liners for Cloth Diapers
liner's won't really help till they are onsolid food - because the poop will be too liquidity to get caught much in a liner

This is true. I also wanted to add, I have been cloth diapering for about 1.5 years and non of my diapers have stains. Just drying them in the sun is a great way to get rid of stains. Liners are more for ease of use, I don't use them, but I also wanted to mention that the Flip diaper system also sells disposable inserts you can use like when you travel or something. I just started using the Flip diapers with my baby and I love them!

since you use them...you could give me advice? I just ordered from kellysmom t the bumGenius 3.0 one size cloth diapers and the biosoft Bummis Bio-Soft Flushable Liners. My DS is 18 months old. I don't know why I did not think of this before but it is never too late. So, am I on the right track?

Re: Flushable Liners for Cloth Diapers
I was trying to rinse the diapers in the toilet but nothing really comes off. I just started cloth diapering and have done one wash - everything came out but I wanted to avoid staining. So, the consensus is, not to bother with liners with breast milk and just wash as is or after a rinse in the toilet? Is the toilet rinse necessary?
I've tried to convince my husband, he thinks I'm crazy.

Thank you for the offer! I don't really need them right away - just wanted to be impulsive, but I really do appreciate the offer and if I were in Huntington, I think I would take you up on the offer (I'm in Great Neck).

I use liners now but didn't when I was BF DS. I didn't even rinse, just threw it in the wetbag until wash time. The liners I use now I get from Cottom Babies - Imse Vimse Flushable. Wait til your baby is on solids before you use them.

sounds good to me.
just allow for a longer DRY time with the bum g diapers b/c of the lining.
you are definitely on the right track!

Re: Flushable Liners for Cloth Diapers
Cold water soak and rinse does helps with stains but laying in the Sun takes stains out. The Sun is a Natural stain remover
I do not put diapers in the toilet. Once DC is on solids I shake out any poo in the toilet then off to the diaper wash bag...

You can get the sprayer from Bumgenius. It attaches to the toilet and gets everything off. That way you don't have to do the swishing around in the toilet thing.
With breast milk poop though, you can just throw the diaper right into the washing machine. It is completely water soluble.
