flying with a 6 month old

Any tips? We are flying southwest to Orlando on Saturday. I'm a little anxious.

Re: flying with a 6 month old

I had all of her bottles premade with me.

I brought Gerber Puffs with me so that she could snack...

I brought a YoBaby with me also.

Brought dry cereal with me so that I could mix on the plane.

I brought about 6 or 7 different stuffed animals/chewy toys that she could play with.

I brought her sippy with water so that she could nub/chew during takeoff and landing - but she wound up drinking from her bottle during both.

The other thing that was great was that my mom bought everyone in the family Bose noise canceling headphones a couple of years ago.... One of the ones that she bought was smaller so it KINDA fits Kristina.... I put that on her during her naps, and it helped to keep her napping.

ETA: I ALWAYS overpack!

Re: flying with a 6 month old

I flew to florida when Charlie was 5 months old. If you didn't buy DS a seat, ask if there are any empty ones when you get there. We got lucky both trips and were able to put him in a seat (in his infant seat).

Make sure to give him a bottle or pacifier during take of and landing to help with his ears.

Other than that, Charlie was pretty easy. I did have a lot of little toys to keep him happy.

Have a great time!

I just flew to San Francisco with my 3 month old. We made sure we had a binky for take off and landing. Also, we tried to feed him before we got on the plane so he would be relaxed. Honestly, it wasn't bad at all! Enjoy your trip. Chat Icon

Re: flying with a 6 month old

We took Kaydyn to FL when she was 5 months old. We brought some cereal dry to mix on the plane so I could feed her (that kept her busy for about 20 mins). And a bottle for take off and landing (she doesn't take a pacifier). I brought some toys and books for her to play with but honestly she didn't really play with any of it. She napped part of the way and then I kept her entertained the rest of the time. She was fine.

Re: flying with a 6 month old

we flew to fla. with DS when he was 6 months old - going down he did have a small meltdown - only for about 5 minutes and only becasue he hadn't napped yet. fellow passengers I guess could relate and tough if they couldn't. I just smiled and rocked him.

the air pressure was totally fine with him going down and coming back.

coming back, no meltdown becasue we made sure he took a nap before we got on the plane. he looked out the window alot.
bring toys :)

Don't stress!
