flying with an 8 month old
HELP! Ok, here's the situation. I'm flying down to SC in November for 5 days with my DD who will be almost 8 months at the time. I have a ton of questions if you ladies can help I would really appreciate it.
What do you do about there ears? Some people say cotton, some people say to use those cork screw looking things they sell, some people say to give her a bottle. We will be taking off right around the time she's due to eat, and that's the other thing, do I just give her a bottle and not her cereal and fruit since we'll be on the plane?
If she poops on the plane, where do I change her? God I really hope that doesn't happen, but if it does, what do I do?
Should I bring her portable feeding seat?
How many outfits should I take for each day? I'm going to my best friends, so I will have excess to a washer and dryer if needed.
I think that's it for now, I'm sure as it gets closer I'll have more question.
If anyone has any other thoughts and suggestions I'm all ears.
Thanks so much

You are only flying to SC? That's a pretty short flight!
I would NEVER put anything in their ears, even cotton. DS flew at 8 months to Florida and he was fine, I gave him a bottle on take off and then he fell asleep.
personally, I wouldn't bring a whole feeding set for what, a 1.5hr flight? Check most of that stuff. Bring some toys and bottles and you will be fine

Re: flying with an 8 month old
I flew to Florida with DD when she was 9 months old. I just gave her a bottle while taking off and while landing and the sucking helped with the ear pressure, she was fine.
I fed DD her cereal before the flight so she would be nice and full, but being that SC is a short flight, either feed her before or after the flight.
Hmm..Didn't see a diaper changing table on the plane but I'm sure they have somewhere you could change her, I was lucky that DD didn't poop and I just made sure to change her right before the flight so she was fresh.
I had my portable feeding seat to use while at the house but we ate out alot and the restaurant always had highchairs for her though.
I just got home from SC 3 days ago :) It's beautiful during the day, but in the evening sometimes it can get a little cool, so I just made sure to have a hoodie sweatshirt or a light sweater to put over her.
Besides DD's beathing suits, I used about 2 outfits per day..A tank and shorts/skirt for the daytime.. and an outfot for dinner at night, usualy jeans and a teeshirt.

Oh! Changing tables!
Both Southwest and JetBlue have them in the rest room, above the seat, you flip it down

Re: flying with an 8 month old
What do you do about there ears? *I just BF'd DD during take off and landing. I would just give a bottle or something. As long as she is swallowing, that will help. Don't stick anything in her ears.
If she poops on the plane, where do I change her? *I changed DD right on the seat. There is barely enough room for me in the bathroom! You could ask the steward/ess if you can in the back of the plane where they are. Might have a better shot of it back there.
Should I bring her portable feeding seat? *I don't think that's necessary
How many outfits should I take for each day? *That's up to you. I'm a packer, so when we went away and DD was that young I brough about 2 outfits per day. Plus jammies.
