Can anyone just answer the original question? Do you think things would be different if it was the other way around? I know this is a serious question on a lot of people's minds.
I won't because the premise is somewhat fictional IMO
In order for the qestion to be taken seriously, a poster must accept your post as fact.
Ok Fact 1: Obama belonged to a radical church Fact 2 William Ayers did set off bombs on American soil. Fact 3 Tony Rezko was a major financial contributor to Obama's campaign.

so then at least answer that one question. You dont think it woud be any different if it were McCain who sat in a church preaching hate?

if you want to know that truth, I think if these things about Obama were true and verifiable, every racist or "ethnocentric" in Washington and around the country would be BLASTING it to the sky.

Tommy, you're not doing the GOP any favors. You're doing them about as many favors as the people on here who love to bash them, only you're simultaneously fueling the flames directed toward conservatives.
I sometimes wonder if you are just a really, really clever Democrat.

I'll be honest - you do have a point there. And I know there are a lot of people - I hear talking about this - that are very concerned about that.

say it ain't so
as for Ayers...that is simply not true.
I would say the same thing then that I am saying now..this OP is full of rhetoric and propaganda.
So ayers wasnt responsible for those bombings?
he was. 40 years ago. didn't we do him yesterday LOL
anyhow, he didn't "launch" Obama's political career.
I can't find anything on fact checker
Huffington Post
Politico
you are correct. he did not. If anyone did, it was the Daley family in Chicago.

Let's not also forget that it took MONTHS for McCain to reject the endorsements of the Rev's Hagee and Parsley.
So frankly, this point about Wright is canceled out. No dice on this one.

I cant believe you honestly think that if McCain belonged to a church that gave the lifetime achievement award to David Duke that he would be in the position he is now. Referring to Obama's church giving that award to Louis Farrakhan

considering that there are Federal Buildings in the south named after KNOWN racists, I don't see why it would surprise you.

Re: Food For Thought (Election Related) Fixed
I also wanted to add that I don't care that Obama is white or black. I researched the points that tommy2 made based on the idea that a PERSON would be our president.
you ASKED me directly what I thought about white, david duke, black and farrakhan....so I answered.
I don't think it's a secret that racism exists in this world and in this country.
I don't think "affirmative action" applies with a position like the presidency. Obama's way to the inugrual ball will not be paved with rose petals.
IF any of the allegation are true, they would be seized on and used against him. but they must be TRUE and provable for anyone to do that.
their lack of ability in this area only furthers my belief that these loose ties and made up kissing sessions are just what they appear to be.

Re: Food For Thought (Election Related) Fixed
I will make only 1 generic comment in reference to churches, and candidates' chosen theologies... both past elections and present
there have been MANY candidates that either directly follow or informally seek the guidance from specific pastors/religious leaders that I SERIOUSLY have issues with.
I won't go into it, becuase I don't want to offend anyone's beliefs, but I have SERIOUS concerns with how theology influences politics.... and the candidates who inflect more theology into their policies tend to get less of my respect
Since my concerns have been with dozens of politicians occurs on BOTH sides of the isle, I politely will say the GOP should tread very lightly on this issue
