Matteos- Italian on Willis Avenue near Albertson
Louies Brooklyn Pizza in Huntington on Jericho Tpke, has the absolute best dinners, so yummy!! They have a house sald dressing that is amazing too...
Don Ricardos- Mexican restuarant in Babylon on Montauk Highway. Service is unbelieveable, very attentive.

I'd have to say Bistro Cassis (French-American food) in Huntington is defintiely one of my favorites. The food is fresh and really delicious. Runners up would include:
-Sole in Oceanside (Italian)
-Churrasqueria Bairrada in Mineola (Portuguese)
-Sushi Ya in Garden City (Japanese)
-Guy Anthonys in Bellmore (also Italian)
-Orchid in Garden City (Chinese)
I am with you on the first 3!!
ALso love love love West End Cafe in Carle Place, Franina's in Syosett...Buteras, and Bayou.

Canterbury Ales (Huntington Village) - consistently good food, good size portions and the staff is very friendly (we're weekly regulars.)
The Clubhouse (Huntington) - I love the intimate atmosphere and I'm a big fan of their Cowboy Steak.
Tomo Hibachi (Huntington Village) - Excellent sushi, fast service
The Shack (Centerport) - seasonal favorite and doesn't really constitute as a "restaurant", but we love going there (it's a fun, casual place with good food. Again, we're weekly regulars when they're open.)
The Good Steer (Lake Grove) - great comfort food...I live for the Cheese Dream Burger
ohhh...and for fast food:
Roll-N-Roaster (Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn) - If you've been there, then I don't need to say anything.
 (I got my DH addicted.  )

We have lots of places we like to eat...BUT...our ABSOLUTE favorite:
BIG DADDYS !!!!!
Why?
1. Atmosphere...it's Mardi Gras year round.......
2. Drinks....the hurricanes & cyclones are great!
3. Food.....huge portions & always yummy!
4. Location.....it's 3 blocks away & we can walk...which brings me back to #2!!!
Most people associate Big Daddys with hot(spicy) food....yes...a lot is spicy...but there is a lot that is not...and now they have the BBQ pit...so it's something for everyone!

I'm going to go with Mangoes in Bethpage....the food is just soooo yummy there, the staff is very nice and every time I go, I always have a good time. I was never disappointed with any thing about the place

I don't remember if I replied to this when it was originally posted, but favorite LI restaurants are:
Caffe Baci - Westbury. I love their pasta dishes, and the prices are reasonable. The food is just yummy.
Cafe Formaggio - Westbury. Slightly fancier, higher-priced Italian food. Romantic atmosphere (even though I've only been there with family and friends!). They serve hummus with their bread, and they have fondue and dessert pizza as desert options. Very yummy.
Graffiti - Woodbury. They have an American menu, with very well-prepared, inventive foods, that are not too fancy. Love their onion chicken and their teriyaki salmon.

Chinese - Orchid - Garden City
Seafood - Catfish Max - Seaford
Mexican - Pancho's - Huntington
American - Grand Luxe
Steak - Morton's - Great Neck
BBQ - Smokin Al's - Bayshore (have not tried Massapequa yet!)
Casual Bar type food - McQuades, Lynbrook
I have plenty of other place we really enjoy, but these are what comes first to my mind. All have the same, great food, service, and atmosphere.

Duke Falcon's in Long Beach. They have interesting stuff in every dish, it's not just the same-old, same-old. Specialty drinks too, and one dessert that I drool over every time I think about it.
And they send us buy-one get-one 1/2 off entree coupons. Got one at home right now.
Love Duke Falcon's have been going there forever...I also love Steven's in Long Beach, but it was affected by a fire and is going to re open in the Spring, hopefully it'll be just as good!!!

Francesco's Trattoria in East Islip.....best Italian food ever and everything is sooo fresh. Fish dishes tastes like it was caught that day!!
