I forgot, I have to add Pencenzo's in New Hyde Park. My BIL's friend is the owner, I took my BMs out to dinner the night before the wedding there. Food is amazing!
My bridal shower was there! I love the atmosphere there - and the food was great!
I've lived in queens for the last 10 years so my knowledge of LI restaurants is really limited - but having grown up in floral park I have to say that Trinity's restaurant (Irish) on Jericho Typke is great.

i'm not telling my favorite place- i hate wait times as they are...
but my runner up is Chili's.. because they have 2-for-1 margariatas (that counts as food--its fruity and stuff)
Chilis is my runner up too!!! for southwest eggrolls and of course their 2 for1s..and they have that dessert there the chocolate chip paradise pie that is OMG so awesome!!!!
You know I was just talking to someone about Chili's, I'll need to add them to my list. The molten lava cake, OH MY! And those Shanghai boneless wings! AHHHHHHHHHHH!

Another good American place is Elijah Churchill's in E. Northport.

Bravo Nader in Huntington...The food is fabulous and the atmosphere is quiant and romantic since it's so small. Very friendly too!

I love Mi Tierrita. They have two locations: Brentwood and Hempstead. Not only is the food to die for, they make the best sangria. If I was able to, I'd eat there every day!!
they have the best arroz con pollo. i use to work at a car dealership in hempstead and always ordered it.

DH's family loves Mama Lombardi's for special occasions. when we are out east we like Digger's in Riverhead (an Irish pub type place) - we love their sausage & cabbage soup and baked clams.
Now that we live in Lindenhurst, we go to the South Bay diner on Sunrise by where we live. maybe a little pricey for a diner, but its really nice and the food is great.
that diner is awesome, we come from west islip for it every other weekend
same here..well now that we bought a house west bab. but they have awesome gyros

I'd have to say Bistro Cassis (French-American food) in Huntington is defintiely one of my favorites. The food is fresh and really delicious. Runners up would include:
-Sole in Oceanside (Italian)
-Churrasqueria Bairrada in Mineola (Portuguese)
-Sushi Ya in Garden City (Japanese)
-Guy Anthonys in Bellmore (also Italian)
-Orchid in Garden City (Chinese)

I have a couple..
Buteras in woodbury and massapequa - they have a rest and a cafe and both are amazing
Singletons in Bethpage - sooo yummy
Chilis - we go all the time - food is great and drinks are nice too!!

others- heirloom in locust valley, panama hatties about 5 years ago, they arent as good as they used to be. i worked there for 7 years and the sous chef opened up his own place (heirloom) after the executive chef took over and that place is 10 x better

asian fusion- baang, great lunch specials

Italian - Sole (everything on the menu is so tasty AND the wine is affordable!)
Japanese - UMI (I cannot even tell you what the sushi does to me! Oh, I'm over the moon!)
Steak - My House (I make the best marinades!)
Eclectic - Duke Falcon's (Such great stuff here!)
Mexican - It used to be Baja - but I haven't been there in ages!! (The Guacamole - now I' make my own)
Chinese - Lo's Green Garden (gotta love the place you order from!!!!)or Yummi Yummi
