I was 7 days late when I was induced.
Labor was exactly 10 hours. I delivered vaginally.

My 1st son was 8 days late.
I truly did not believe that the baby would come on his own. I was supposed to be induced on a Tuesday AM and I went into Labor about 5pm Monday nite.
Thoase were 8 very hard days. I kept asking my OB to take the baby out and he would not even think of it until the 8 day late.

DS was 10 days late. I was scheduled to be induced on the 11th day, but on the 9th day my water broke around 9:30pm. I went to the hospital and they gave me pitocin around 2am because I wasn't having regular contractions. My DS was born vaginally at 5:21pm. I think I had a pretty easy labor, well thanks to the epidural  . And to answer your question, I pretty much did give up on DS coming on his own. I didn't really want to be induced, but at the same time at 10 days past my due date I was dying to get him out!

11 days late. My water broke and I was in labor for 10 hours. Never really dialated and had a c-section.

Ava was due on July 10th, and I was induced on july 15th. It didn't work out and I had a c-section at night on July 16th.

THank you all for taking the time to respond!!! I know that pretty much it's a crap shoot and anything can happen - I just like to hear these stories so that I can really be prepared for all scenarios!

sorry to say, i was 7 days past due and induced on the 8th....
i was a only fingertip dialated so my dr gave me pitocin and expected to follow w/cervidil, but the pitocin did the trick by itself, it took about 20 hrs of labor.
It was all torture though, a good part of the time-about 15-16 hrs-was spent talking, resting,watching tv & anxiously waiting to dialate more!

7 days late, induced, labored for 17 hours, and had a vaginal birth.
