i have no experience with that issue but just as note - if your RE isnt addressing the issues behind your infertility, i would consider that a red flag and get another opinion. IMO any OB or RE can throw meds at you and do an IUI and hope something sticks. IMO an RE shouldn't treat each issue the same and should come up with a specific and custom tailored plan to YOUR needs. is it possible to get pregnant with the basic protocols, sure, but if it were me i would want to know that the doctor is considering all factors and really doing his/her best to knock me up and not waste my insurance money. good luck either way, just make sure you are your own advocate and not getting the cookie cutter approach!!

Re: For those of you with poor reserve/egg quality.....

They said there wasn't a way to improve it. Dr. Stelling and Halfen. I noticed during my last visit that it said Unexplained Infertility on my sheet on the bottom. I didn't even think of it until this week. If I have a LOW AMH, wouldn't that be the reason I couldn't get pregnant? I wonder

Yea I guess all the Drs at RS of NY feel that way! She said there's no way to improve but when I read other sites, there's many docs who put pts on vitamin supplements, acupuncture, ect-- like they believe it can be improved. I just don't know why mine said its a done deal.

According to my OB, Dr. Stelling is a brilliant Dr. but goes 100% by the book. And everything to him is a number.

She believes in natural ways to up your fertility using Supplements, vitamins, acupuncture, and anything that helps you unwind.

For those of you with poor reserve/egg quality.....

My doctor recommended acupuncture. I had an AMH of .16 in June 2012. I started acupuncture in October, changed my diet, took chinese herbs and when my level was re-tested in January it had gone up to .83. My FSH level also went from 13 to 8. It is definitely something to look into too. I am now 11 weeks pregnant (naturally) after 2 failed IVF cycles. I attribute this to acupuncture, diet, vitamin supplements and exercise. Good luck.

I heard wheatgrass helps with FSH (not sure about AMH). I would assume also dietary changes, working out, vitamins, etc. Good luck Chat Icon

With one of my ivfs, I had 14 eggs retrieved and one fertilized. And I had unexplained infertility. My RE didn't suggest anything to improve quality. He was aware that I was already doing acupuncture. Good luck!!

My 'RE was very supportive of me trying supplements. I did a ton of research, went to acupuncture, took my herbs teas and exercise, changed my diet and got pregnant my 4th iui.

I think I sent you my list, same list I sent Kaya. Between Kaya, and myself I know 3 other women who followed the same regiment and have all gotten pregnant with in the last 3 months. So much so my 'RE is now researching the herbs with her acupuncturist and herbalist :) my AMH was .03!

Just wanted to add you have to have some patience with holistic approaches, they don't work over night, and it takes 3 months for your egg quality to improve.

Would you mind sending me the list please. I did acupuncture and took herbs that the acupuncturist gave me unfortunately they didn't seem to help at all . Curious to know what supplements you used and dietary changes you made. Thank you!

Yes, I have been following your list, THANK YOU!! I was wondering-- how much royal jelly do you take? Do you go for the YS organics brand? I was hoping to take the freeze dried pill form but I hear the refrigerated type is the best. I'm hoping to start my first IVF cycle in May so hoping I get somewhere with these supplements!
