My DD was born at 7lb 15oz. She is now almost 9 months and weights 18.5 lbs. At this point most 18 months clothing is fitting her well becuase she is tall. However I definitley wouldnt describe her as huge.

My baby is making some great jumps in terms of percentile but he was born under 5lbs and is still small for his age.

DS was born small & is still small. At 11 mos he is still barely in 6 - 9 mos clothing. He was in preemie clothes until he was 4 mos, and then was in NB until 6 - 7 mos.

Re: for those that had babies on the smaller side( says between 6.5 lbs and 7.5lbs) question

DS was born at 6lbs 4 oz

He was 15 lbs 4 oz at his 6 month check up - 25% .... doctor said not to worry.

I was worried because all the babies around that age that I know (from here and from friends are all pushing that 18-24lbs mark at 6 months) but truthfully, I think he's perfect. He's got a little chub, but not too much ...

eta: he's in 3-6 clothing now and is 7 months. He was in NB until he was 3 months old and in 0-3 until he was 5 months.

Both DC were within 3 oz of 6lbs. They've always been on the light side, even at 2 and 5yo.

DS was born at 7lbs 11oz and 20 inches..

At 8 months Im not sure exactly how much he weighs or his exact length but he's close to 25lbs and about 30 inches...

At his 2 month appointment he was 24+ inches and 14lbs 7oz...

There are a plenty of LIFers who can attest to Cadens size...

So while he did start off as a peanut he grew a ton!!!!

Re: for those that had babies on the smaller side( says between 6.5 lbs and 7.5lbs) question

Both of my babies are 6 lbs. DS was 15-25% up until he was a year old. and then he just averaged out. He's on the thin side, but he's lean and long. DD was the same. They both EAT alot though.

ETA that my kids are not big at all! lol

DD was 6pds 10 oz when she was born. She is really tall but not too plump. 100 percentile for height but only 50-75% for weight.

Bryan was 6lbs 13oz at birth.
He was always in the 90%.
As of this past Saturday, he dropped down to the 35% in weight (stayed in the 90% for height).
Since Jan. Bryan grew over 2 inches, but, only gained a little over a pound...He's tall and thinned out.
Dr. actually wants to see him gain a little weightChat Icon Not much, but he should be about 24-25lbs right now and he's 23lbs and over 32 inches tall.

ETA: DS is 15 months

Re: for those that had babies on the smaller side( says between 6.5 lbs and 7.5lbs) question

Nikolas was born 7 lbs 4 oz and 18 1/2 inches long..

He then proceeded to eat like a little PIGGY for practically his entire first year and was quite the chunky monkey Chat Icon I look back at pictures of him and he was such a chunka Chat Icon

Now he is 18 months old and at his ped. appointment last week he weighed 27 lbs, 7 oz. and is 34 1/2 inches tall. Pretty much right on track (I never ask for percentiles , always forget Chat Icon)

He is tall and has some meat on his bones, but isn't at all heavy or chubby anymore..once he started walking/running he lost a lot of the chubbiness. He still wears some 18 month clothes (esp. pants, since he has NO waist and the next size up falls off him unless it has an adjustable waist) but for the most part ihe is in 24 mos or 2T now, esp. in shirts

Kerri was 6lbs 7oz at birth and has always been in the 50% for weight but has grown quickly length wise. She was and still is always on par with what her age is in regards to clothing...9 months wore 9 months....18 months wore 18 months
