Re: For those who had early walkers...

just to give you another perspective:

em went to town with walkers around 10 months and STILL isn't walking 100% yet. she takes steps, at most 20 in a row, but won't full on walk (she can still crawl WAY faster than she can walk)...

she cruises like crazy, climbs on EVERYTHING and only walks when she darn well wants to :)

Re: For those who had early walkers...

My boys pulled up early and cruise shortly after. They both were pulling up by late 7 months and cruising at 8 months. Both were going up flights of stairs at 8 months. I have pictures of my son pushing a walker at 8.5 months. The younger walked at pretty much exactly 11 months and was running within the week. The other held off and didn't walk until right after he turned 1 and moved slower but was running about a month later.

Re: For those who had early walkers...

DD started full on walking at 11 months taking steps and full on walking about 2 weeks after that. I think it's wonderful. I'm used to her being mobile because she's been crawling since 6 months. I love seeing her toddle around.Chat Icon

Re: For those who had early walkers...

First unassisted steps were at 9 months, full on walking by 10 months. She was so tiny, it looked so funny seeing someone so little walking around!

Nina was almost 10 months when she started to walk. By 10.5 months she was a pro! She never crawled.

Re: For those who had early walkers...

Luce is 9.5 months and made his first solo move across the play pen today.

I don't consider it "walking" b/c he barely moved two steps, but he was NOT holding on.

methinks it will be sooner than I'd like.

I don't think you have much time left either!!!!! Chat Icon but Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: For those who had early walkers...

Landon was pulling himself to stand and cruising around the house at 6 months and 1 week old.
He took unassisted steps early (like 9 months) but didn't fully start walking til 10 months, I guess because crawling was still much faster for him. By 11 months old he was RUNNING everywhere.

Re: For those who had early walkers...

DD#1 was taking 2-4 steps at 10 months full on walking at 10.5- she was never a hand holder and would just take off. She was all over the place and hard to watch. She was cruising at 7-7.5 months- walking with a push toy (that lion push walker) at 8 months.

DD#2 - was taking steps 2-3 steps a couple of times a day independently and as much as 10 or more (if you distracted her enough she would walk across the room) at 10.5-11 months BUT she is the complete opposite of her sister and EXTREMELY cautious - and for months would only walk completely around the house with her doll stroller and would only walk holding my finger outside of the house. I don't count her as a true walker however until 13-13.5 months only b.c that is when she finally got confidence and would walk OUTSIDE of the house on her own. (She was running IN the house across the room before she would take individual steps outside of the home). Everyone told us she would walk earlier than her sister - b/c she was cruising at 6.5-7 months.
