Mommies of early walkers....

Did your DC reach all their gross motor milestones early????? Rolling..sitting..pulling to stand..etc???

All my girls didnt walk until they were 13/14 months old and basically met their gross motor milestones right on time...everyone keeps telling me that DS is going to walk early (based on what I have no idea)..while he has met his gross motor milestones earlier than his sisters I just dont see a signifigant difference that would suggest him walking at say 10 months....

I was just curious...to be honest with you this is my last little one and I really would prefer if he stayed that way...Chat Icon

Re: Mommies of early walkers....

Kaitee didn't roll from back to belly till she was 4 1/2 months old. She sat up at 5 months pulled up not long after that was crusing by 7 1/2 months and took a few steps at 8 1/2 months. Then she fell and hit her face on the couch and didn't take steps again untill 9 1/2 months. By 10 1/2 months she was a slow runner.

Re: Mommies of early walkers....

My kids all walked by 11 months, my DD was the earliest at 10 months old she was trekking around like an old pro. I think their earlier gross motor milestones were on average though.

Re: Mommies of early walkers....

My DD was walking at 11 months. I think she met all her other milestones on time or a little on the late side (?) not sure...

Belly to back roll 4 months
Back to belly roll 6 months
Sitting unassisted 6 months (would occassionally throw herself back though)
Dada 6 months
Crawling 7 months
Pulling up/cruising started days before steps so 11 months.
Pointing to ears, nose, head, etc. - 12 1/2 months

She's behind on talking - at 13 months all she says is dada, uh oh and a very rare mom-mom. Nothing else. Everything is dada - if you ask her where mama is - she'll look at me, but not really say it. She knows what a ball is, but calls it a dada, etc.

Jack was walking at 9 months and everything was on traget until about 6 months when he took off from sitting to crawling to steps to walking like a pro at 9month.

Re: Mommies of early walkers....

Steven was on the early part of the scale. He is a classic text book baby! If they say they roll by 2-3 months, he was rolling at 2 months. He was full out walking by 10.5 months. He started cruising and would take steps, but not full on walking since he was 8 months.

I was actually hoping my DD would take her time, but no. She just HAD to keep up with her big brother, Chat Icon. Now they both run around like maniacs all day long.

#1 was ahead in everything except sitting up. He actually did almost everything before being able to get to a sitting postion on his own.

ETS:

crawling 5 m
pulling up/cruising 6 m
standing alone 7 m
walking 9 m

Re: Mommies of early walkers....

Matty was sitting at 5.5 months
Crawling at 8 months
Walking at 10.5 months

So far all he says is "OT" (hot) for coffee, fireplace, radiator, stove.

Receptive language is great but behind on talking for a 13 month old.

Re: Mommies of early walkers....

DD was a late crawler (9mths) but an early walker (10mths). Guess she just wasn't into the whole crawling scene. Chat Icon Everything else she's been around schedule.
