For those who have read Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child.

I have this book-- I keep trying to read it. I cannot seem to get to it, or to get to the meat of the book.

My baby is almost 4 months old. We have not had major sleep issues thus far, so we are lucky-- which is probably why I haven't really gotten to read the book.

Can you recommend the best chapters to read, etc.? I keep skimming and all I seem to be getting is a diatribe on how important sleep is.

I was going to read the book from cover to cover when I first got it, but found it was Chat Icon . So now, I just focus on the age bracket that Katie is in b/c then at least I know how often and for how long she should be napping.

I recommend skipping to the section for her age group. From what I remember for 4 month olds is you should aim for a nap 1 hour after waking. Then during the day look for signs your baby is getting sleepy. Aim for naps after your baby is awake for 2 hours at a time, avoid having your baby nap in the stoller or car if possible etc since they don't nap as soundly. Basically you are on house arrest during naps Chat Icon I love this book though, helped me tremendously!

ITA with the PP. I didn't read that book until Maddie was about 8 months old and it helped tremendously. With Eliza, we started using the techniques outlined right from the very beginning. I now have a 6 month old who has a *pretty* organized nap schedule and almost always sleeps through the night (save for the occasional growth spurt).

It DOES suck being on house arrest- especially with TWO babies who need naps- but it's well worth it.

I never read the whole book- just the chapters that pertained to the age group.
