Re: For those who wear glasses/contacts
Can someone explain why you may not be "allowed" to wear contacts (ie for c/s). I understand about them getting uncomfortable, but is there some medical reason why you can't wear them during an operation?
TIA

Re: For those who wear glasses/contacts
I wore my contacts and ended up having a c-section. I asked my doctor at one of my last visits and he said it didn't matter.

I'm not exactly sure, but I know there are reasons you wouldn't think of like why you can't wear nail polish (the doctor needs to see if your nails turn color which could indicate a problem during or after surgery). I know contacts deplete your eyes of oxygen (that's why it's not recommended to sleep in them) - this may have something to do with it.

I would think in case you would have to have a general anesthesia. Your eyes will be closed and you can do that with contacts.
That's my "medical" explanation.
