For those who weigh themselves every day.
I know i'm not supposed to do this, but i just can't help myself...anyway should i be concerned that even though i lost 1.5 after my first week on WW, when i weighed myself two days later i apparantly gained back 1 lb? Seriously, i probably used about 4 of my extra points because of the holiday but i didn't really "cheat".

Re: For those who weigh themselves every day.
your weight will fluctuate every day
I could lose 2 pounds one week, and the next day gain 3
I wouldn't worry about it

Re: For those who weigh themselves every day.
I am one of those who weighs myself everyday and I'm amazed at how my weight flucuates. I can lose 1 lb one day and then be up 2 the next, then down a half, then back up 2...its ridiculous! I've been trying to lose 8 lbs for the past 2 months and all I've been doing is going up and down by 1 or 2 pounds. I work out 6 days a week and have been eating really well. I don't get it!!!!! It's all in my legs too. Anyway, sorry this became a rant! I feel if I weigh myself every morning then I can monitor what I do that day and see if any progress was made the next day...or from Mon-fri.

Re: For those who weigh themselves every day.
Did you have a lot of salt/sodium over the weekend?
My weight can fluctuate up to 3 lbs day by day depending on how much water I'm retaining. For the most part I'm usually with a pound or so.

Re: For those who weigh themselves every day.
Your weight can fluctuate ALOT. Especially as a women, where you are in your cycle can impact your weight, sodium intake, how much food is in your system, water weight, etc, etc.
I've experimented with the scale (for fun) to see how much weight I could "gain" in a day. a few weeks ago: Saturday morning I weighed in at 119. I ate and drank (beer) all day on Sunday and then weighed myself Sunday night- 130. I didn't gain 11lbs in a day- it just goes to show you that weight can fluctuate alot. Generally my weight stays between 118-122. It'll go up after a big meal, cheat day, or I eat alot of sodium.
Don't worry about it and keep doing what you're doing.

Re: For those who weigh themselves every day.
I see a lot of flucuation. I weigh myself every morning and every night. But I don't let it drive me crazy. It tell myself it is what it is.

Re: For those who weigh themselves every day.
When I diet, one frustrating thing is that my internal plumbing is slower, therefore I might see a gain. I weigh every day. Mary

Re: For those who weigh themselves every day.
I weight myself every day and it def fluctuates. I weigh in on Fridays and then over the weekend I generally see an increase of 1-2lbs. This is because I'm eating saltier foods and not taking as much water usually. Then usually throughout the next week it goes back down.

Re: For those who weigh themselves every day.
Try not to focus on your daily weight- I think using a weekly average is a better method. If you weigh yourself in the morning then again in the eveing you will see the scale move up a few pounds. I have also experimented like Colleen and I know that there is a few pound difference between my morning and evening weight on a day where my diet is ideal. Try not to be discouraged by the number on the scale. Focus on eating a healthy diet.

Re: For those who weigh themselves every day.
I don't get hung up on the daily weigh in but I do still step on the scale every morning. There's no way to know when that little "cheat" you ate will turn to fat and show on the scale. Could be a day, could be 2, who knows?
There are some days though when I limit my salt, and drink a lot of water, that I just know before I get on the scale that I dropped a pound or more. Keeping it off for the rest of the week is the challenge.

That makes me feel so much better! I was sad about the 3 lb fluctuation from yesterday to today. I'm totally blaming it on the Michelob Ultra Lime Cactus 6 pack.....

Re: For those who weigh themselves every day.
Ok, after this morning's weigh in i'm on .5lb higher than what i weighed on Sunday. Regardless, i'm just going to go by my weekly weigh-ins. I have a feeling its going to take some time to lose the weight, but hopefully i can get back down to at least 105, so that i can fit back into some of my clothing. Thanks!

Re: For those who weigh themselves every day.
I used to do this all the time, but since Ive been weight training along with doing cardio I stopped. Becuase since muscle weighs more than fat Id freak out when I saw the scale begin to increase even though my clothes were getting loser on me.

Re: For those who weigh themselves every day.
Personally, I think it's best to weigh yourself once a week, before you eat anything, totally naked. I can weigh myself in the am and see one number end then that night it's 2 pounds more. It'll drive you crazy!

Re: For those who weigh themselves every day.
I just wanted to add that although I weight myself just about everyday, I only "count" my Saturday morning weigh in as my real weight. The other days are just to monitor the fluctuates, water weight gain, sodium intake, etc. I just like to see how various lifestyle changes may affect my daily weight.
So I only count my once a week weight as my "real weight"

This is me too. I only count my Friday morning weight as me weigh in weight. I just like to see how I fluctuate also.

Muscle does not weight more then fat it is more dense- A pound of lead and a pound of feathers have the same weight but different volumes.

no one argued the weight of a pound.. your right a pound of muscle is equal to a pound of fat... however it takes much less volume of muscle to make up that pound. hence muscle does weight more then fat...

This is the point I was making...density and weight are not the same thing. Equal volumes of muscle and fat do not weigh the same but a pound is a pound not matter what you are weighting. Muscle does not weigh more then fat it is more dense.
