For those with a high ranch or large front window....please help me out
If you have a high ranch or large front window, what do you have as window treatments?
We currently have a sheer curtain with Navy Blue curtains in front of it that we keep open. I hate it, i'm so sick of it.
I was thinking of ordering just wood blinds but unsure how it would look. I'm so indecisive.
What do you suggest? If you have any pics of your house or ideas, I will be forever grateful. The blinds place has a sale going on today so i'd like to order something but have no idea what I want.
Thank you!!

I have a high ranch and right now in the front window we have roman shades with 4 panels of sheer curtains. I actually hate the roman shades but they came with the house and are on our list of things to replace eventually but I never realized how expensive window treatments are! We do plan on replacing with wood blinds, I love the way they look and I will still put up some sort of curtain

We have cellular shades. They work well bc like this pic it's a flat window, not a bay window.
I quoted this post bc Bearcat, it looks like there is a dead chicken in the right side of your couch!!!

I am by no means a good decorator but we did cellular blinds with a valance. We have a bay window. I am thinking of getting a sheer valance and panels for summer.
I closed one blind so you could see it closed. But like I said I have zero decorating skills

I JUST BUSTED OUT LAUGHING! It totally looks like a dead chicken.
Thanks everyone so far. I like the pics. I love that bay window but unfortunately, we don't have one. I think we will end up doing the woodblinds, Bearcat. Do you have a farther back pic by any chance? Sorry, i'm being annoying! I just am trying to envision my house with blinds, I think I really like it.

I don't - not on my phone. I can take a picture later after work if that would help! (after performing my dead chicken rituals)

I got a long Valance and then drapes for each side. I also have sheers underneath that for the whole window. I got them in Country Curtains.

Re: For those with a high ranch or large front window....please help me out
I have a hi ranch. Our front window is one long window, except it has two side windows that open, while the center portion doesn't. We have wooden white blinds up and then a double curtain rod. There is a valence all the way across the window, and then on each side, there is one panel and we have pulled to the side.
Since DH just helped me put up the new curtains (we changed the color), I'll take a picture and post later.
ETA:
Bad lighting and cell phone picture. And bad picture because the curtains were just hung and need to be steamed/pressed. I need better rods for them. And the couch is off center for now because we made some room for the baby's toys in the corner. and the panels are normally pulled to the side with the hooks you see, but I am leaving them hang for now until I can iron/steam them. But you get the idea...

Here's a better picture. The window is recessed (we have a cape) so I don't have any sort of curtains - it's a tight fit.
