Formula change question

We finally got the OK to change Sydnie over to Enfamil Gentilease. She started last night. When do you think we'll see an improvement? She was up all night last night Chat Icon Still no poops. She's been on prune juice too.

Can't wait for some relief for my poor baby. Chat Icon

Re: Formula change question

If it is the right formula it can still take a few days to adjust. My DD was on 5 different formulas during her first few months b/c of a milk protein intolerance.....it will get better Chat Icon

Re: Formula change question

It could take a few days. Did you change cold turkey?

We had to change DS a few times when he was just a few weeks old- b/c he too was not pooping. Started w/ Similac, then Good Start, then Soy (not sure which one), then BACK to Good Start. All the while (not with Similac) we were adding prune juice or Karo syrup to his formula. It eventually all worked out.

Re: Formula change question

DS was switched to Gentlease at 8 weeks and it took a solid week before we noticed a difference. Don't think it isn't working if she is still fussy.

We did cold turkey.

Re: Formula change question

When we switched to Gentlease it took about 2-2 and 1/2 weeks and then he was like a different baby.

Our Ped had told us to allow up to 3 weeks to see a change.

Re: Formula change question

It will take a full 24 hours for the previous formula to get out of her system...I would give it a few days to a week to start seeing an improvement.
