If the doctor said that the toxins are now out of his body, that should bring you a bit of happiness. As for him losing a leg, that is terrible but modern medicine / technology is so advanced now that prosthetics (can't spell it) look and function like real legs.

ITA i know it sounds horrible about lossing a leg... but on a bright note you did not lose your brother YES it waill be hard for him BUT he will be here for you and his kids and he will learn how to do it all again

They amputated from right above the knee. He will be able to get fitted for a prosthetic.
