French door or Sliding patio door?

I can't decide whether to get french doors or sliding patio doors.

The opening we have is new and will accommodate a 4 foot size door.

I'm worried, if we get a french door, that we can't install a screen door so if we open the door during the warm season all the bugs outside will come in. We have alot of mosquitos in our backyard for some reason.

But if we get a sliding door, I'm afraid the opening won't be wide enough since the entire width is only 4 feet but only 1/2 of that can be opened at any given time.

Thoughts?

can you get a screen slider for french doors? If not I wld go with slider so you can have that air flow w/out lil critters.

Thanks, I don't know if it defeats the purpose of having a french door if a screen door is also installed? Won't it be hard to open up the french door?

they are retractable so you dont have to can keep screens open for when your going in and out and keep closed for when its buggy and you just want the doors open. search web for retractable screen doors. If you dont like that idea then sliders are prob better and cheaper.
