Re: friend/family watching your kid? do you pack a lunch?
It really depends on your arrangement. My mom watches DS and we send diapers, wipes, toys, clothes, a bedrail once he moved to a big boy bed, etc but she generally provides food for him because she is happy to do so and told us we dont need to. She loves cooking for him and loves reporting back the elaborate meals she makes for him. If there was any inkling that she preferred us to do it, we absolutely would. And when she takes him to school for us (sometimes) we always pack his snack and send it with him because she prefers for us to take care of that.
If you prefer her to send food, she should send food. Period.
Edit: sometimes we provide milk and yogurt for her to have at her house, sometimes she buys it. It varies.

Unless you watched them every day or on a regular basis, like a few times a week.
No i probably wouldnt think to send stuff.
This for the most part, but I would still send something to share. Along the same lines as not going to someone's house empty handed. I would either send some snacks for everyone , or give the caregiver cash to pick up lunch for all. Unless there were special diet concerns I would not send food just specifically for my child in this case.

friend/family watching your kid? do you pack a lunch?
I've watched my nephew everyday this week. His daycare was closed. My sister pays $250 a week, she didn't have to pay this week. My nephew gas been here 8-4 M-F. I have fed him breakfast and lunch and tons of snacks. I wish my sister would've packed some styff for him or threw me $20 for snacks. He snacks a lot and so do my boys. I spent $200 on groceries on Monday, I am wiped out of snacks and most breakfast items. I def would have given my sister money. I would never ask her though.

No, I would not send food. I have never sent my kid over though.
If others watch our child, it is at our house and we would have food or give money to have food delivered.
If it is a play date, I would expect the host to provide food and beverage. A meal if it is during a meal time.

friend/family watching your kid? do you pack a lunch?
If it was a friends house or a babysitters then yes I would but wouldn't expect someone to do unless it was an everyday thing.
For my parents ..no and if I was watching my niece/nephews I would never think to make my brother or SIL provide me with food...those kids are like my kids and I feed them and care for them the same. My brother or sister in law would do the same.

Re: friend/family watching your kid? do you pack a lunch?
I'm not a parent yet but if you are doing her a favor and watching her kid regularly and your one request is that you not need to shop for extra food for him to feed him and she refuses I think it's really rude!

friend/family watching your kid? do you pack a lunch?
A family member watches DS 3 days a week. I offered to send food when she started watching him, but she said no need. She would just feed him what her kids eat. I do however bring bottles of juice, snacks, cereal, etc when I remember for everyone. I feel like it is my way of "replacing" the food they all eat.

If it was every day, like if my sister or a family member was watching DD 3 days a week or every day so I could work, I would definitely send food.
If it was just for a day so we could go to a wedding or something, then no I would not send food and would not expect food to be sent if I was watching someone's child just for a random day here or there.

Re: friend/family watching your kid? do you pack a lunch?
My friend watches my DD four times a week and I give her food for her. My mom watches DD once a week and I don't give her food. I'll only give her a slice of bread for when she needs it to make my Dd grilled cheese. That's about it.

If it was something regular, I would either provide food or give money to cover the food.
Once in awhile, no I wouldn't. I'm sure your SIL trusts that you and your DH will feed him properly and not give him junk food the entire time he is there.

Re: friend/family watching your kid? do you pack a lunch?
I can see it either way. But I think that since you've asked for them to send you some food item, I think they should just suck it up and do it. They could pay $75 give or take for daycare so for you to ask for some snacks or a sandwich I don't think is asking too much.

Re: friend/family watching your kid? do you pack a lunch?
If they were watching my child on a regular basis then yes I probably would. However, if it is just every so often then no I never have. My kids are 4 and 7 and whenever our in laws have watched them I have never sent them with food. I honestly think they would be offended if I did.
Frankly, if I was watching my nephews I would never have them bring their own food. I can't imagine not sharing my food with my own family.

This. My in laws watch my boys every Thursday from 8:30-5:30. While I know they don't expect me to pack stuff, I do. But I have had both friends & family members watch the boys at their houses for just 3-4 hours while DH & I go out to dinner or something, and I never thought to provide anything. The only exception is my BFF & her DH because they don't have kids and don't have anything remotely kid friendly in their house lol.
