gassy newborn
painful gas, she has these gas attacks right after she eats and she turns red and kicking her legs and screams in pain Anything I can do to soothe her or give her? I've been giving gripe water in bottles, burping her frequently etc...She can't really sleep flat only elevated so I'm doing that as well. She's pooping fairly regularly every day, we recently switched her to good start gentle bv similac sensitive was very constipating.I hate to see her in so much pain and she's not sleeping well bc of it either

Re: gassy newborn
My DS was acting the same way, the dr. tested his stool right away and he has a milk protein allergy. Similac Alimentum was the only formula to work for him.
If your little one seems to still be in pain after a few more days after trying gripe water or mylicon, I would ask the dr. to test her poop. The sooner you figure out why she's in pain the sooner you can help her feel better.

Re: gassy newborn
We switched to Dr Browns bottles and used gas drops in each bottle. Seemed to do the trick for DS.

Re: gassy newborn
I highly recommend the Dr. Brown's bottles as well. I switched from the Avent bottles and I notice a huge difference. The babies take in little to no air with the Dr. Brown's bottles.
Our pediatrician recommended the Mylicon drops and a teaspoon of chamomile tea in their bottles.

Re: gassy newborn
I tried the gripe water with DS and it didn't work. Dr. said to change him to the Enfamil Gentlease, and suggested I try the Dr Brown's bottles (I was using the Playtex Ventaire) and within a day he was soooooo much better !!
Good Luck ! Hope she feels better soon !!
