Re: Gavin's daycare just called.....
How old is Gavin now?
Even with sunscreen, he should of not been in the sun long but it does need to be reapplied, why he maybe got a little red.
I would address that, ask if it was reapplied and for an infant, that you would rather keep him out of sun, for long periods of time.
ETA: Dinner was fed by accident, as they said.
It happens, its ok to be upset

Re: Gavin's daycare just called.....
Aside from being livid, my future advice is that you put the sunscreen on in the AM and then let them put it on again when taking him outside. Also buy him a hat to wear outside. Things always happen in daycare so sometimes you have to weigh when the right time to get mad really is. I dont think you should burn your bridges yet. What happened is upsetting but not life threatening, KWIM. BTDT...I know how you feel

Re: Gavin's daycare just called.....
Well, luckily you can start using sunscreen at 6 months old. They should have asked you 1st if it was OK to put sunscreen on.
Our old daycare took the kids out but they were under the shade of the roof.

I bought him sunscreen and had to sign a letter that I give permission to use it......... I have to see him to judge......
THe dinner feeding isn't such a biggie for me, he usually gets fruit at that time, so I guess whoever fed him though that wasit.....

Re: Gavin's daycare just called.....
At my DS's daycare I have to bring the sunscreen I want them to use. But in the a.m. beofre I take him I slather him with some from home....it can't hurt. We are very pale skin, we burn so easy, so I really have just leanred to be extra careful.

Re: Gavin's daycare just called.....
I think you should wait till you see him to react. If he is bright red like he was left in the sun for an hour without sunscreen -- go crazy on them. If he is light pink on his face and arms, I wouldn't be too upset and I might buy stronger sunscreen and apply it in the morning like lotion.
Hopefully it was an accident and not negligence.

Re: Gavin's daycare just called.....
i would be pissy. If you bought sunsceen in for them to use. I just don't understand how he got red. And that would bother me
But like a PP said. I would put it on myself on sunny days.
The feeding thing is no biggie

Re: Gavin's daycare just called.....
Well, with the feeding thing, why was his dinner there? I send DS with his food for the day and he has dinner at home. I think they give what they think DC wants to eat at that point.
As for the sunscreen, are they sure he is really sunburned and not just flushed? My DS gets flushed and it looks like a burn, and isn't.

I would also make sure that he didn't have a reaction to the sunscreen.
Also, sunscreen needs to applied sometime before you go in the sun so maybe they didn't wait long enough (it's happened to me).
