I never knew that but I was impressed they did this for me, without my prompting.
I actually do this with my credit cards also, usually once a year. They're used to people threatening them with cancellation, so they usually have an offer ready for you.

Yes, once a year a get a survey from Geico asking me a whole bunch of questions, like my mileage, the car, any safety features it may have etc. I know they do this because I have the lowest amount of miles driven attached to my policy because I am a SAHM and rarely put more than 5000 miles on my car a year. I think once you go about 7500 miles, it bumps you into a higher tier and they want to get my new info every year.
