Getting your schedule messed up...a vent.
I know most moms on here have a schedule for their kids. My most important hours of the day are between 6-8:30pm. This is when I feed the kids, bathe them and get them ready for bed. I hate phone calls during this time or anything else unexpected because it just pushes my schedule back. If the kids go to bed late, then I eat dinner late and then I don't get to relax until later.
OK.
So a certain someone decided to stop by unnannounced last night (on Valentine's day) bearing gift for the children. Before I could even open the door, I see her covering her face because she's coughing. I opened the door and she says, I'll stay back...I'm sick.
WHAT? You come over to my house and you're sick?
She gives the kids their presents, part of it consists of chocolate. Jared doesn't eat chocolate and Nikolas is 16 months old.
This is all while I'm trying to feed the kids dinner and get them settled for my usual routine.
To top it off, my dh was coming home from work late at 8:30 and I wanted to have the kids in bed and have a nice dinner cooked for us.
So this certain someone decides to stick around until 8pm. Nikolas was too excited he only ate half his dinner. We lost his binky somewhere in the house and had difficulty putting him to bed without it (and was up two more times during the night). My dh got home..the kids were still not sleeping at 9:30 also because I was tearing the house apart looking for the damn binky.
We finally got to sit down at 10:30 for dinner. I was exhausted and p!ssed off and didn't even feel like eating.
Now, if anyone else is reading , make it known that I'm not ungrateful...I just don't like surprise visitors who are ESPECIALLY sick visiting my kids.
There were other things that were said during the visit that annoyed me (which I'm not going to get into).
Ugh... I'm just annoyed. It's always something.
I just wanted to add that it's also an invasion of my private time especially on a day when she knows that my dh worked all day long and we haven't spend time together.

That would annoy me too! We have a schedule with Lily that we stick to pretty strictly...and when anything throws it off, she's miserable! So we try not to do anything to disturb it...
Sometimes, people just don't get it!

That would annoy me to no end. How hard is it to make a phone call and ask if it's OK to come by?

Re: Getting your schedule messed up...a vent.
Dude- my freaking NEIGHBOR pulls shizz like this ALL the time. ALWAYS during nap time- and our dog barks like crazy when there are people at the door. And always for something she could have very easily called about.
I totally understand your frustration. What would this person have done if you didn't answer the door? That's what I've done.

My dh told me next time to not answer the door...but the nice person in me thinks..I can't leave them standing at my door, when she can see right through it and see me in the kitchen.
But if he told me to, then I might have to take up on that.
