GHI girls
I don't have GHI but I'm thinking of switching during next open season b/c they are the only plan available to me that offers IF benefits.
I'm looking at the brochure which is vague about what's covered, the $ limit, how many times, etc. I called the general number and asked to speak with the IF specialist. She wouldn't transfer me b/c they normally don't speak with non members. She gave me the same info available on the website.
Does anyone have the direct # for the GHI IF department? I want to get detailed info before I switch. Thanks!

Re: GHI girls
The only number I have is the customer service dept unfortunately. I think it really depends on your employers plan that determines coverage. I can tell you what GHI through City of NY covers because that's what I have...

It is not the insurance carrier that determines the actual plan. It is the company that decides what they want to include in their plans.
I would ask your HR dept for a sample of the plan and let them know you are thinking about switching during open enrollment and want to start looking into everything. But just know that they can change the plans with the carrier each year so what that plan has now might not be what they have at open enrollment.

Thanks. The girl just read me what is available on the website which includes the pre-requisites for IVF. She didn't really know what % I would pay.
Once open season starts, I'll look at the 2016 brochure and call again if necessary.

Re: GHI girls
I have Emblem which is through GHI, and all my monitoring and IuI's are covered with just copays. and then I have 10,000 toward IVF. Put I need to go by the NYS Mandate which is I have to do 6 IUI's before I go to IVF. But I could go right to IVF if there was Male factor issues or if both tubes were blocked. I had to Call emblem /GHI multiple times to get this info. Ask your company if they can give you some kind of policy reference # so that you can call them and ask exactly what this policy covers. Good luck.

Attached is the brochure for the GHI plan that I can switch to. Fertility benefits are on page 32. If I pick the standard option, then I can only go in network. But it looks like I would only have to pay $30 per visit for in vitro and nothing else. So if I do in vitro and have to go to the RE 10 times for monitoring, egg retrieval, transfer etc, I only pay $300?
I called the main # and the customer service rep seemed to interpret it the same way I did.
Any thoughts?
