Gift Q.. WWYD?
my brother's ex gf sent us a very sweet card and a check for the birth of the baby. It is super nice of her, but I feel weird accepting the check.
She already gave us a present for the baby shower.
DH says to return the check and thank her for her generosity. Do you think this is rude?

Yes I think it's rude. I think you should graciously accept the gift and send a thank you card.

I know, I think I would too, that's why I wasn't sure about returning the check. I thought about not cashing it.

I know, I think I would too, that's why I wasn't sure about returning the check. I thought about not cashing it.

I def. see your good intentions but...I would cash it. Its nice of you but she wants to have that, personally if I sedn a gift I want it to be cashed, and I would be happy to know what you bought with it!!!

It was a gracious gift. Just send a nice thank you and cash the check. Honestly, almost everyone who was at my shower bought us something when Emerson was born and it was so very sweet of them because they didn't have to. I wouldn't think of not accepting those gifts because that would hurt someone's feelings, I would be hurt if someone didn't accept my gift. I just sent out thank yous for everything I received for our new baby.

I would accept it and buy something from your registry. Write a note back saying that you bough A, B, and C and your dc is enjoying it.

I would definitely take it. And similar to above poster, I would use it to buy a specific gift/outfit/etc for baby, then take a pic of baby using the item/wearing it/etc and include it with a really nice card.
