My first thought..shes incorporating her family into her career herself. Irs possible ti balance family & career. Good for her. I agree. I think it's awesome!! And also fitting in BF while working! It's hard to do. I did it for a year and still don't know how.
thats what i thought too, the fact that shes BFing went completely unnoticed by me

Honestly, I think the OP posting this is a pure ploy to start drama. The BF vs FF song and dance is real old.
Why can't there ever just be a normal adult discussion about the the pros and cons and different views on things? Why is everything drama?
Ditto. I think it's a beautiful picture. Not sure why there's so much controversy about it in the media.

I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, nursing has always been such an intimate thing for me between me and my babies. That's not to say I haven't nursed anywhere and everywhere. But I don't care for the way she is paying absolutely no attention to her baby here. It's like she's just getting him fed so he's not hungry. On the other hand, she is nursing him and incorporating that into her working life, which can be very tough. So I don't know, I'm undecided.
Yes, but this pic was taken as she was getting eye makeup put on. She could've been looking at him the other 90% of the time.

Re: Giselle. Thoughts on this pic?
I didn't have a thought first, the first thing that happened was my boobs starting throbbing because it's coming up on time to pump
I don't like her, at all, ever. But I love this photo. One of my newborn pics is a totally natural shot taken during a break of me nursing DS and it's my favorite of all the pictures. Good for her, whether this is real or staged, for depicting the naturalness of breastfeeding.

Re: Giselle. Thoughts on this pic?
I LOAATHE this woman - I would think this was just a sweet picture - if I didn't hear her running her mouth about how amazing she is as a mother and BFing and getting back in shape and eating the right food and blah blah blah -
Because of THOSE things, I see this picture and think she's trying to prove a point to universe that she can BF while "working" (getting her hair/nails/makeup done)? MOST working mothers are not supermodels and nursing their children while sitting in a chair being pampered.
But again, I hate her - so I'm biased.

Funny. I was thinking the same exact thing. I think it would be a nice picture, but I know she has some ulterior motive behind it. Look at me... I can do it and make it look so easy so everyone else should do it. This is just not the "norm." Oh, and her hair does look beautiful. Reminds me I need to make a hair appt.

Exactly what you said.
This picture of her is a show of superiority. She said something about having only 3 hours of sleep in this pic. This makes sure to show she is the most beautiful and perfect mom in the world.
She is very condescending about how much weight a mom gains, what they should be eating (referring to women Turning into garbage disposals) , and how she exercised until 2 weeks before birth.
Most working mothers don't see their kids for 8 hours a day and can not nurse during that time, this pic makes me

Hmmm maybe I'm the minority here but I don't find this to be condescending at all. More inspiring than anything. She's showing that you can find a balance between working and family. And it's great to see sometimes.

Honest to God truth- my first thought, the first thing I noticed was her HAIR. I was looking at how gorgeous her hair looked. But I have hair envy issues so that is the first thing I look at on ALL women.
And I do love the fact that she is working and being a mom all at once. I think it's a great thing to teach your children- that a woman can have it all!
ITA with all of this! I spent about 30 seconds oohing and ahhing over her hair, then I noticed the baby

This is what I think as well - like she is trying to say "See, look at me, I can do this and anyone who can't it's because you aren't good enough/don't care enough/don't work hard enough at it/etc."
This is only based upon things she has said in the past. The picture itself is beautiful and her hair does look amazing.

ITA
Clearly one's views on breastfeeding and Giselle herself can influence one's thoughts on this picture. I am not a huge fan of her but our kids were born on the same day and I'm still nursing too. If I were a supermodel, I'd take a pic like that if I could!!!
I think it's really important to show pictures like this to normalize breastfeeding. While it may not be normal for you or me to BF while getting our hair done by a team of people, I have BF'ed in the salon. And it IS normal to BF anywhere and everywhere, as uncomfortable as it makes some people feel.

Re: Giselle. Thoughts on this pic?
I think it's ridiculous. It seems so staged and fake to me and just feels like self promotion. There's a chance that this is how she can balance family and work, but I don't think this is even how she does it on a day to day basis.

For me, this picture doesn't show what it is really like for the "real" mom to balance family and career. I think her putting herself out there as an example of balancing family and career is so unfair to working moms. Most working moms don't have someone to do dote on them...do their make up, hair and nails. Most moms are struggling to get dressed while pumping and minding to their baby. Most of working moms don't have a job where they call the shots and can stop working because their child needs them. I think it's the presumption that this is the example of balancing family and career that hurts so many women since this is something that is so out of reach for most working moms.

This is exactly how I feel about.
I also agree with the poster who said this photo looks so staged. I don't doubt a mom can do it all. But the way she put it out there, being pampered while BF just rubs me the wrong way.

It may not be what other moms do, but it's real for her. And she IS a real mom.
