Giving Eye Drops to Toddler!
What is the secret?!
I feel SOOOO bad trying to give my 2 yr old eye drops for his pink eye. He already has sensory issues and gets a little defensive when it comes to his face.
I feel like I'm torturing the poor guy.
He is hysterical and closes his eye tight so we have to hold him down. It's awful
Plus, the drops are pricey and it's tiny so we can't waste any

Re: Giving Eye Drops to Toddler!
poor baby..
This may be late but when I had to put them into my lil brother's eyes (he's 16yrs younger than me so he was a toddler then) I started off with water. I made it a game .. close your eyes. Not tight... then one drop of water on the corner of his eye.. Open up.. OOOH WATER! hahaha
again and again to myself and him. Then moved to the drops. Still did myself but for me he saw water going in.. for him i used the drops
Good Luck.

We always did the tag team. My DH would hold them down and would kinda pin their head into a corner on the changing table, then I would quickly do the drops. It is horrible and we both felt like $hit afterwards but they get over it quick

same. we do it when he is drinking his milk, on the changing table. one holds his head and opens his eyes, the other drops the drops in and its over in 15 seconds... we then praise him " gooooood boy!! BIG boy!" and he laughs/smiles dont get me wrong, he fights it but it isnt too bad
