Toddler eye exams?

Anyone have experience brining their toddler for an eye exam?
DD is 2.5. She is going Wednesday morning. They said it is a two hour exam and they will dilate her eyes ( takes 30 minutes to take effect ).
I'm nervous about her having blurry vision after the exam. The doctor's website said the blurry vision could last 6-8 hours, up to 24.
What should I expect?

H. has had it done a few times. He was fine by the time we left the dr---we just kept him inside for the rest of the day so the bright sun didn't bother him. The dr told us that the blurry vision really happens around bright light.

It sounds worse than it is!

Kaydyn had one when she was having her tear duct surgery. We def weren't there 2 hours, but prob close to an hour and a half.

We kept her inside the rest of the day after her appt b/c I know when I've had my eyes dilated that being out in the sun hurt.

Ian's had this done since he's 11 months. He's never complained. I would just keep the sun out of her eyes.

Re: Toddler eye exams?

DS has had his eyes checked and dilated twice before the age of 1. 1st time was at 4 months! He was fine both times, didn't even cry (although I imagine now at 2, like your DC, they are more aware of what is going on).
