Giving Notice- WWYD?
My husband has accepted a job with a new company and our family will be relocating to Richmond, VA in April.
I will be resigning from my job, and ideally would like my last day to be around March 20th.
My manager and I do not get along. Normally, I would give notice at a job as SOON as I knew I would be leaving, out of consideration and to give them more time to find a replacement. However, DH said to wait to tell her until 2 weeks before I want to leave, because he thinks she will be even more nasty to me once she knows I will be going. He also feels I owe her nothing since she has mistreated me for the past year and a half. But, I want to do the right thing.

I would only give the 2 weeks. You could just up and quit the day you want to leave, but that really wouldn't be right.

It all depends on how you think she'll take it.
I would probably give 2 weeks based on her past attitude. However, if the economy isn't doing well & your company is struggling, can you ask to be laid off with a severance package?

I am not sure how she will take it. Part of me thinks she will be happy to see me go- but it will be an inconvenience. We have a thin staff and the position will definitely need to be replaced.
I just hate walking around here acting normal- when I have known this since January 19th. I have my performance review tomorrow, and to go through the motions as if I will be here will be hard.
