Graco Snugride or Chico Keyfit?

We went to BBB today to look at strollers and carseats. I have narrowed down both to two choices. For the carseat I am deciding between Graco Snugride and Chico Keyfit. Both have adaptors for both of the stroller options, and they are similar in weight/have similar weight limits. What did everyone else decide to get and why?

We went with the chico keyfit 30 since it has the best safety rating but you really can't go wrong with either I'm sure.

Honestly one thing I REALLY suggest after putting ours into our car is try googling which car seat works best in your car. We have an SUV and didn't give this a second thought figuring anything would fit well. Well, the Chico is pretty snug back there. We looked up our model care online and apparently its the best car seat for our car and the Graco was even bigger. As it is, there's a big limit to how far back we can put the passenger seat. (we have the car seat in the back, obviously, but on the passenger side)

Def try googling your car and which car seat is recommended to help make your decision!

eta: at BBB you can apparently drive your car up to the door and try them out.

I have the Graco and it just seemed bigger than the Chico. I would go with the Chico!

We used the Chico for ds1 and will use it again. At that time consumer reports rated it the highest- not sure what's rated highest now but we were very happy with it- it was easy to learn how to install it, wasn't too heavy..

Couldnt agree more with what Penny said. We also got the keyfit 30 by Chicco. We have a petty big SUV and it is very snug back there. We have to keep the passenger seat pretty far front.
We tested it out in DH car as well and same thing.

We have the Graco Snugride and love it. It fits into our car perfectly.

An additional factor is that we love the Graco snap n go. I did not like the way the Chicco fit into the snap n go.

We have the Chico and love it. Instead of purchasing the Snap and Go, we purchased the Chico Keyfit Caddy which is essentially the same as the Snap n Go but made just for the Chico. I love the basket on it- it is HUGE. We love it so much we've yet to open the box our City- Mini GT!!

We have the Chicco and had no problems whatsoever. Will be using it again for this baby.

I think the passenger seat thing is an issue for anyone as long as the car seat is behind there. It's worse when the convertible is rearfacing. I didn't put any car seat there until DS was in the convertible. The infant seat was in the middle. I won't get that luxury this time around.

In 2012, Chicco Keyfit was rated highest in the Baby Bargains book so we went with that one.

We chose Chico Keyfit as well based on safety ratings, which is kind of silly because they are all safe, but so be it!

i have heard they are both really good.
we have the chico keyfit (just bc family had spare bases and this way we saved money on buying all new ones). it is great, except i find the sun shade/canopy very small. there is a small fold out/pop up piece but it still isnt enough when we are walking and the sun is shining.

i havent compared it to the graco but check that out if you see them both in store.

i believe chico came out with a newer version that has an extended canopy so that may be one to consider. i saw it online but havent seen it in store - i think its called the keyfit Magic
