Hard time eating healthy
With m/s hitting me at all times of the day, I am finding that all the fruits and veggies I was enjoying the past couple of weeks gives me horrible indigestion. Instead i am reaching for things that aren't as healthful...particularly today...I had McDonalds of all things. Now I feel guilty about it. I am not (or trying not to) have this stuff every day, but I am not happy with my food choices. It was so much better when junk food turned my stomach. Anyone else having a hard time with this?
Any suggestions to ward off "but I want this, only this, and I want it now" frame of mind which seems to be getting me into trouble?

Re: Hard time eating healthy
I totally hear ya! I was just thinking about how my food choices have not been the greatest because most things make me so sick I just remember from when I had this with DS, I didnt eat that healthy either but by the 2nd trimester, I was eating much much healthier. Right I have been really just eating ANYTHING that I can get down...I mean, what are my other options since mostly everything healthy makes me either nauseous or run to the bathroom?

Please I had two wendy's jr bacon cheeseburgers the other night. After I wanted to throw up! We won't even talk about the amount of picking i've done today. Just eat whatever you can keep down!

I know its tough. Perhaps, just to get a little bit of healthy food in you, you can try just a little piece of a fruit here and there? Like just one piece of apple or something, to make sure you are getting something nutritious in you, but hopefully not too much to make you sick.

I am with you on this! Most things make me nauseous to even think about let alone eat! Ive been able to do pasta and cereal and crackers. Though Im trying to get more meat in but fruit and veggies make me gag! It used to be the other way around! I hope I get over this soon so I can get my baby the healthy food it needs! Im still taking the prenatal vitamins so I hope that makes up for some of it!

You are lucky! I can't even take the pre-natals. I have to do flintstones because I will need the hymlic (sp?) if I attempt to swallow even the smallest pill now-a-days. I've had some scary instances in the past few weeks w/ pills.
Tonight I was able to eat some pasta. You are right pasta and cereals are the best. I had a salad earlier and it was ok, but the salad dressing really grossed me out (moreso the smell of it).

Re: Hard time eating healthy
I know exactly what you mean. Before PG I lived on veggies...once I got PG all I could stomach was carbs...pancakes, pizza, bread, mac & cheese, etc. No fruit, veggies, meat nada. Now I'm feeling much better and have started craving fruit, veggies & meat again. It'll get better.

Re: Hard time eating healthy
You are so funny - I responded to your FM btw.
Seriously, I'm not going to say it'll get better b/c my reflux is just now starting to get "heavy duty" to the point I have trouble sleeping, unfortunately, as that baby grows bigger they push everything UP! So for me, with DD it didn't end till they took her out... now it's back with #2. You may get some reprieve once you hit T-2, but don't be surprised if it comes right on back at some point. You have a history of tummy woes so that's probably why in T-1 you are experiencing this stuff.
Just try not to stress... you don't eat that way everyday AND I'm sure you ate other things that had vitamins and minerals the same day you had the fast food.... have a cup of milk and chill! Actually, go back to Mc'D's and get a shake! Get one for me too
We'll chill together I believe cravings pregnant or not are our bodies way of telling us we need something. Endulging appropriately is healthier than deprivation - mentally and physically.
