Has anyone been to an all inclusive resort within a 30 minute drive?
I want to book something for April of 2009, but I want to find something that is relatively close to the airport. I cannot spend an hour driving to the resort, out of preference. Ok do you have any suggestions?

I do have to say that DH and I booked a trip to the Sandals Grande in St Lucia, which was about an hour from the big airport, and it was the BEST TRIP EVER!!!!!!! (other resorts appeared to be closer to the big airport, and VERY close to another airport.) I was very afraid for the local 'van' trip to the Grande since I have very bad motion sickness. It was nothing.
Sandals Grande was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! We are counting the days til we go again when DS is 18.
We went in April of 2006 and it was known as the dry season. This meant more sunshine and less bugs.

Aruba has wonderful all inclusives and since the island is so small, everything is relatively close to the airport.
Aruba is my favorite island. You have to be careful of the sun though, it can be VERY strong.

Beaches at Turks and Caicos -- 3 hour flight and 15 minutes to the airport.. The place is HUGE, pools, restaurants and beach all beautiful but its a family place so if you dont want to be with kids around, its not for you..

Re: Has anyone been to an all inclusive resort within a 30 minute drive?
I was going to suggest the Divi Resorts in Aruba. It was about a 20 minute drive from the airport. We took a taxi and it cost us $20. Once we were at the resort, we didn't rent a car, because they have golf carts that can take you from one resort to the next. Also, the public bus takes you right into town and it's about a 3 minute walk from the Divi and costs $2 a person each way. FM me if you have any questions!

Iberostar Punta Cana in the DR. It's not that far from the airport.
