Has anyone hosted or been to a party at a park? Please come in
We're hosting dd's 2nd birthday at a park. We rented a the pavillion, etc foe the day. There is a huge playground next to the pavillion. We have 120 people total, including 30 kids. We have an ipod to bring. Should we have any other entertainment? Pinatas? Hire a face painter? We planon opening the food as soon as the party starts. Then what? Tell the kids they can go play? Ive never been to a park party and am clueless. Any suggestions?

we went to one. there were no extras. just the playground, snacks, pizza, cake. all the kids seemed to have a really good time. if you can afford a face painter/balloon animal maker, kids always seem to love that. we usually do a pinata at my girls bday and it's always a hit. but i don't think you need any of those extras to make it a good time.

We went to one. It was a one year old party, so besides the playground which was great, they bought a bunch of the kid's toys from home and even baby gate corral thing. It was a fun location because all the kids played at the park, and the parents could chat. Have fun!

We did my DD 1st bday at the park. Besides the playground, we brought bats/balls, hoola hoops, bubble machine etc just a few extra stuff but it was a hit, the adults even had a great time playing.

we went to one and they had a facepainter which was nice but not a necessity. They did have things like bubble makers (the wands for the kids and the ones are like the machines), hula hoops, a couple balls for the kids to play with and also water balloons.
all the kids had a great time!

I just did DD's 1st birthday in a park. It was also in a gazebo next to a playground. We also served food right away. We didn't really need any extras but we had out balls and frisbees, and lots and lots of bubbles- all the kids loved those and some people used the playground. We also had some small games. I think kids love a face painter, so if you have the budget for it- do it. Pinatas or a pin the tail on the donkey type game would also be fun. We basically did greetings, chips and dip and lunch foods for the first hour and the second hour was activities- games, balls, bubbles and the third hour was desserts and goodbyes. It went well.

We had DS's 1st birthday at Cedar Creek where there is a huge playground. We had some crafts for the kids, but otherwise just let them play on the playground.
