Has anyone quickly gotten sick after eating at a restaurant?
I went out to eat recently at a new restaurant. Not long after eating, I felt a sudden feeling of getting sick. This never happened to me before. We were still at restaurant but had to leave. I am curious what it was that I ate and what exactly happened. Once I got home, I felt a bit better but still off. But felt had I not left restaurant when I did, it would have been an awful scene.

Yup happened to me at burger king. I got so sick I ended up in the hospital with dehydration.

Yes, happened at a diner. I started to feel bloated and nauseous as soon as I finished eating, went home and was extremely ill for over a week. The Dr. called the Board of Health and they investigated the diner. I had salmonella poisoning from the feta cheese in the spinach quiche I ate.
I recovered but to this day it upsets me to think that this could have been potentially fatal to my DD. She was about a year old at the time and I always gave her some of "Mommy's" food from my plate. Thank God she fell asleep right before the food was served and she didn't eat any of it !!!

DH and I went out last night with some colleagues of his and he felt sick as soon as he got home.
He's threw up at about 2 am, slept a bit, and has been vomiting all day so far. He's napping now. Can't hold anything down.
We were supposed to attend a wedding this afternoon but obviously that can't happen, and we feel bad about that.
So yes...he felt sick pretty quickly. I am queasy but I didn't eat much and there was one thing he had that I didnt so I think that's the culprit.
ETA - it had to have been the food. We spoke with two other people there last night and they are ill as well. Ugh!

I used to get sick every time every time I ate at Polini's in hauppauge. Ugh shutter just thinking about it. I would barely make it home, this happened three times. Unfortunately, it was my exes family's favorite restaurant. I finally started refusing to eat there.

Happened to DH when were dating at a highly recommended Thai restaurant in Miller place. We never went back.

Yes! We went out forMexican food in Mytrle Beach, I started feeling sick almost immediately. It didn't hit DH until the next day. We were fighting over the bathroom for says. Fun way to spend a vacation. NOT!

I got sick from Cold Stone Creamery and Quiznos (twice). Not fun. I don't patronize either of those establishments any more.

Yes. I have had food poisoning 3 times from different restaurants.
Comes on sudden about an hour or so after eating.

Omg yes. It's awful.
Once at a Mexican restaurant. I excused myself right after dinner for the ladies room and had to text my DH to get the check because I thought I was gonna die.
Another time at Brennan & Carr in Brooklyn. Omg. We got home and I was so sick. My friend went toher car for something and didn't come back. I went out to check on her and she was stuck getting sick in the driveway! Couldn't make it in the house.
So so awful

DH got sick years ago (in college or maybe before) both times from eating Domino's-- he will never eat Domino's pizza again which is fine with me (never had it & don't want to try it)
I got sick once shortly after eating salad at Panera (although it's possible it wasn't the salad but a stomach virus or something instead)... I've been there so many times & it never happened before or again so I continue to eat there.

My mil did from Texas Roadhouse. She was hospitalized and in really bad shape. They knew it wasn't a virus bc it was confirmed with bloodwork that it was a foodbourne bacteria

My guess is that it wasn't food poisoning, they literally fry their steaks in butter and I am very sensitive to oils/butter so that makes me VERY sick as well.

Years ago I had a long streak where I couldn't go into Fridays or Applebee's without getting violently ill in the middle of a meal and having to leave abruptly. I don't get sick from it anymore, but I still avoid it to this day due to the disgusting thought alone of what the hell must've been in that food.

Wow, what is with COLDSTONE??? My grandma and her friend went there years ago when they first opened up and both got sick. I think one of them even went back a second time and it happened again, although I'm not positive. Either way, that's scary! I will never go there.

Yes, years ago at the cafe in the museum of modern art. To this day, I have never been that sick. The vomiting and abdominal pain was awful. My stomach hurt so much that it was even painful to touch the skin. It took me several weeks to feel normal and i lost 8 lbs.

I ate the meatloaf at Cooperage Inn my first Valentine's day with DH. It was an embarrassing night...I have never been so sick.

Me too! A few hours after eating an (undercooked) egg sandwich from BK, I had the worst diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pains of my entire life. I couldn't walk or speak. I thought I was going to die. It was horrendous, and I will never eat at Burger King again in my life.
