have any of you had a bad experience bringing your 3 year old to Disney?

like overstimulation?
tantrums when the rides stopped?

I ask bc we went to Dutch Wonderland this weekend and it was not at all how I would've epected DS to act....he got very upset when the rides were over, and he was a bit overstimulated at the hotel....all of the different noises and stuff really made for a very stressful trip. WE have Disney booked for his 3rd b'day in November and we are so worried that it will be a disaster....but I am trying to think positive and being that we'll be spending most of our time in Magic Kindgom and a day at Animal Kingdom that it will be ok bc there are so many other things to do other than rides. Any advice, insight, etc.????? Thanks

We took DS at 22 months and will be taking him again just before his 3rd b-day.

DS was great at disney. He did throw a tantrum once or twice when he wanted to go on the same ride again but nothing too horrible.

When we went last year, it was extremely hot. So we would eat, then go to a park, spend a few hours there, then go back to the hotel, allow him to play/go swimming/sleep, for 2-3 hours, then head back to a park. I think it helped him to stay "cool" and not get too exhausted leading to more meltdowns.

The hotel was easy as DS really is a go with the flow kid. But I will say I am nervous for November trip because in June we went to Sesame Place and for the first time at a hotel, he cried for a good 30 minutes going to sleep about how he wanted to go home, to his house and his crib etc. So I am not sure how it will be this time around but I guess we will see how it goes.

GL!!!

Overstimulating? Yes. He barely slepped. He came back home completley wired. Chat Icon It took him 1 week to calm down.

But he loved it, had a great time. So did we!
