Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?
Whether you started a thread on some totally innocent subject that became a 10 page argument on a Friday, or posting a comment with no ill intent whatsoever and all of a sudden, one poster is offended, twisting your words around and then 25 of her closest friends on LIF come out of the woodwork and are tearing you a new asshole?

Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?
Yes! And it was over the ornament swap! Some people are ridiculous.

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?
Once I see certain posters crawl out of the woodwork after a long time of hibernating, I stay away from the thread...whether it was started by me or if I was posting within it. It usually means that what you described, OP, is about to happen.

Nothing crazy. I try not to comment on the drama threads, but I have occasionally. I don't recall ever attacking anyone on the boards. I have never felt like a victim, but god forbid I vent on the relationship board....

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?
Yes. One time on the Parenting board, I shared a story of something I saw in Central Park. Basically I said I saw a nanny with a brand-new newborn baby-- like just a few days old, and I think I was commenting that it was cold out or something for the baby to be out. I don't even remember, this was a long time ago. Well, my mistake was that I described the lady as a "Caribbean" nanny, and it took off from there.
- People accused me of "racial profiling" - People said I was judgmental and racist because I assumed this lady was the nanny. The baby might have been her adopted newborn. - People said I was judgmental because a days-old baby was with a nanny. Maybe her mother had PPD or was a Hypothetical Diabetic and simply COULDN'T care for the baby. (Or maybe, just maybe, she was a spoiled Upper East Side princess with a hedge fund DH, ya know?)
It was insane. Went on for a few pages. I don't even waste time defending myself on craziness like this. It was just typical feeding time at the zoo.

Haven't we all?
The way LIF is, I'd be shocked if someone didn't get involved in some drama at some point.............even if completely unintentional. It's just how it is around here.

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?
Yes I made a dreadful mistake telling someone to relax she didn't have many friends so not many came out of the woodwork, she mainly flew solo-- but man was she a number!

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?
Yup. Never ever thought I'd get in a drama thread, but once I started a post joking I never got my push present. Really don't care that much, but I guess it was a slow day at work and thinking about it. Before I knew it some girls were down my throat I should be grateful for a healthy baby... LOL! It was comical.

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?
I once made a comment about Jessica Simpson's dad on the C&E board. Somehow one poster took my comment the wrong way and basically accused me of being a 'homophobe' or something. I remember quite a few girls came to my defense and completely understood what I meant but it was an interesting few minutes

I must be the worst mother in the world! Because sometimes I want to rent a hotel room and hide from my DD for a few days.

Hands up for I guess another bad mom. In August I feel like the only mom counting down the days to September to send DS to school.

My birthday was last week and when DH asked what I wanted, hotel room was my answer. I told him I just want to sleep in for ONE day. Is that asking for too much??

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?
On LIW I was asking about a vendor (my first or second post ever) and noted something I had seen at a few weddings as I mentioned my concern. I got a lot of flack for it and the icons repeated on the entire page. I was really embarrassed and didn't post for a long time ... but I still stand by my opinion!

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?
yes. and i still feel bad about it, to this day... because i was misunderstood.
i wanted to learn something and my question must have come across as something i was NOT intending. i think it made people think i was an assh0le. then i felt that every time i tried to clear up my mistake, it just got worse.
now, i read and re-read my posts with the drama in my personal life, i really don't need any more so i do all i can to keep it to a minimum

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?
Was I a "victim"? no. Have I disagreed with someone who was a nasty bitchh? oh yes I don't consider myself a victim though bc I give it as good as I get it when I feel I need to
I do not start drama, there are people on this site who I dislike for things related to LIW drama from years back, I ignore them, but if someone posts something that I dont agree with or have an opinion about then yeah I have gotten into it with them if they get nasty.
