Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?

I started a "why can't people clean the snow off the roofs of their car thread" that I guess got a bit heated. Surprised the diabetic excuse was not used on that one.

I started one about a block party and showed me that there are a large number of ignorant (and after the Black Friday threads, hypocritical) people are on this site!

Yup! When I innocently posted a vent about my IL's making comments about my parenting to DH, one poster got on my case and the thread got pulled. I never partake in drama threads and was really taken aback, but most of the other posters came to my defense.

I try to stay away from the drama on here.

One day I said Jennifer Garner was dressed frumpy and it was the end of the world. Funny thing is every other celebrity is fair game to criticize on the celebrity board except for her.

You can trash talk Kim K all day but god forbid you happen to not like Jen's outfit that day. Its amazing.

Yes, and I was not trying to start drama. I am under a different name, have been on this site since the beginning, and got a sour taste in my mouth afterwards. I stayed away for awhile. I am back on but not as much.

I had that happen to me on a local moms Facebook page. I was upset over the constant fireworks going on everyday throughout the summer in my neighborhood and boy was I ripped into. I left that group.

Yes. I don't think I was a "victim" per se, but I once applauded Pink for not going into hiding and for looking "real" bc she was photographed with a belly and some bloat after giving birth. A male poster got offended bc his wife apparently lost all of her belly and weight instantly after giving birth therefore, in his mind, I was saying his wife was "not a real woman." It was one of the most odd and ridiculous things I have ever experienced on here.

lol I remember that it was so bizarre.

I been told to relax a few times on the celeb board when I don't agree with posters. Don't call Jay Z an idiot on there.Chat Icon

One thing that aggravates me is when I or another poster responds with a valid argument or correct someone but the posters ignore the one sensible post and keep attacking and harping on the drama. Lol

I wasn't a victim but I did get called protector of the trying-to-conceive. If that is the worst thing I could be called in life then it's not too bad!

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?

Yes! I think it was LIW not LIF though. O woman was upset that her FH locked his phone and didn't give her a password. I though it was weird that she was trying to get in it without feeling like she had reason to be suspicious. Apparently I'm the only LI girl who doesn't check her BF/FH?DH phone. I would be pissed if DH was checking my phone like that so I wouldn't do that to him. But I became the bad guy. Of course I don't remember specifics but it was clearly a trust issue in the relationship.

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?

Yes. It is why I no longer post here. I lurk daily but the amount of ganging up and personal attacking done from people I'd never interacted with was very upsetting, I could never post regularly here again.

Nope, I hate getting involved. It's more fun to read. But I hate when people get attacked for nothing.

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?

Yes, I have. There are so many types of bullies online.

1. people who follow the herd and sometimes they need to step back to see that they are bullying.

2. people who state an opinion that disagrees with someone else's but a third party comes in an turns it into drama, or maybe the original post was really just bait.

3. some people are bat sh!t crazy and it shocked me to see them get the kinds of followers I mentioned in (1)

4. I'm sure there are other bully profiles. Oh, how dare I profile Chat Icon .

If there was recent drama in the past few days I missed it so I am not making a dig at anything specific.

Didn't see that one, but I've learned that on LIF, you should never talk about this subject unless you are going through it. I think this is the one time I've been majorly attacked on this site and my posts were totally taken out of context. (I had a bunch of posters FM me to say that they felt the same way).

With that said, I will shut up now before more drama is afoot.

Chat Icon to all who are going through this.

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?

I don't know if this is "drama" but I posted about my husband being overseas in afghanistan for half a year..I was sad, anxious, scared etc...

Someone had the nerve to write something along the lines of that he wasn't truly "serving" because he wasn't a soldier. Like what he was doing there was no where near as important as what a marine/army personnel do. Even though he was working in the middle of kandahar air base which had rocket attacks weekly, and was in danger, and left his family for half a year to serve, she made my feelings feel unwarranted and reduced me to tears in a second. And a few other jumped on the bandwagon until some of you lovely ladies supported me and told me not to listen to it.

Ahhhh good old LIF. sometimes a real pick-me-up, sometimes a slap in the face, lol
