once actually. when i was a new parent i posted asking if its ok to send DS into daycare when i had the day off from work. some people said i was a bad parent for not wanting to spend my free time with my baby and others said i needed a "me" day. now that my son is 4...if i have a day off i throw that kid on the bus and say "see ya!!!"
I must be the worst mother in the world! Because sometimes I want to rent a hotel room and hide from my DD for a few days.
My birthday was last week and when DH asked what I wanted, hotel room was my answer. I told him I just want to sleep in for ONE day. Is that asking for too much??
I've been asking for this for years!!
He arranged for me to go away overnight with a friend a few weeks ago (she has a place out in Montauk) and while I was grateful- he kinda missed the point.
I don't want to have to socialize or do anything! I want to hole up in a room like a hermit, order room service, take a bath, read, watch movies and sleep for 24 hours.
To answer the OP- I've never started drama, but I've been involved in a few threads. Nothing major and the one poster I actually remember getting into it with is really a very nice person and I think we were both just a little defensive and hot headed at the moment. Things are cool now.

Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?
YES! I'm still horrified and traumatized by it, let's just say it ended up with me calling someone a horseface and posting a picture....of a horse....with a face. Not my finest moment! lol

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?
I've had a bunch of posters disagreeing with me.
I also had one bat sh!t crazy one that turned things personal. She was banned after someone tried to shut down my cable, internet & phone. While I never got confirmation it was her, I absolutely believe it was.

Nothing crazy. I try not to comment on the drama threads, but I have occasionally. I don't recall ever attacking anyone on the boards. I have never felt like a victim...
Same here, though I'm not a huge poster though (unless a gift card is involved! )

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?
yup. normally i never participate in drama threads, even if i have an opinion, because there's always so much back and forth that i don't want to get involved.
however, last year i innocently posted a question about costs for a baby nurse.
the initial responses were fine, but then someone decided to ask why i couldn't just do it all myself. needless to say, that led to 7+ pages of drama, and eventually the thread got pulled.

I don't think I ever have, no. I stay away from it. I am in the minority with a few of my beliefs and bite my tongue on quite a few things I just come to enjoy the drama of others, LOL

I believe I had issues with the same poster and I ended up being banned from LIW as a result. Rarely do I get personal with posters, but with that one I couldn't resist and I photoshopped one of her images. Apparently she, nor her friends, were fans of my "artwork."
------------------------------------
Then on here (LIF) years ago I stated an opinion in a thread and it was taken out of context and other posters started making statements, of which I never said. I apologized to the OP for creating such a mess of her thread because that was not my intention, but after that thread, I cut back my posting on LIF considerably.
I was (and still am) just amazed at how people start attacking and making things personal.

I try to stay out of drama on LIF.

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?
uhhhh ...ALWAYS!
I was told by a poster they "felt bad for my son" because I stood up for people who taught their kids to shoot guns at a young age.
I was told I must be related to or idolize snooki because I stood up for her when people said she would automatically be a bad mother bc of her past. (oh not to mention my past was thrown in my face from previous threads in history)
oh god...there were so many. My husband seriously wonders why I still come on this site with all the crazy drama. But I honestly enjoy discussions and also like the easy access to feedback.

I've actually thought about the banana thread when I let my kid have something at the supermarket before paying. Before that thread, I seriously had no idea how outraged people got over stuff like that.
Now when I hand over that banana, I say a silent thank you to the Hypothetical Diabetic for allowing me to get away with this behavior

the sad part about LIF drama...is it doesn't stay on LIF...it migrates to private facebook groups. That shit's pretty lame.

Re: Have you ever been a victim of a drama thread?
Always. I used to think the LIW drama was super fun, but now its just too much of a headache. That's why I stay on the fashion board. There aren't too many fights over skirts and scarves.
$76 makeup brushes and $3k bags, however...

This is not just LIF though. I actually found LIF because I used to belong to a different message board community that created a private message board to basically make fun of the posters on that site.
I had even met most of those ladies IRL.
Shit then got so personal on there that I did something to delete and then lock myself off the account completely for good, so I never had to go back and deal with that kind of batshitcrazyness.
Right around that time I was looking to find a local message board community and someone on the Knot of all places posted about this site.
The rest is history.
